LowCarb Snacks for long Road Trip

i like to make my own beef jerky - you can bring jerky if you make/buy it

Of course I intend to stop to eat!!! I'm planning on pitstops at 3 - 4 hours,
that's why I asked about snacks.

i would bring a cooler - is that possible? then you could bring cheese
sticks, and a bunch of other things. I would buy things as you go- you
aren't locked into the car! you should bring some non-perishables then stop

That's probably the best idea, with all my trip planning, it never occured to
me that I didn't have to bring it all with me duh!
My concern is that I'll have no place to refreeze the ice packs for the cooler
and I'm not too crazy about having real ice in the car. Hmmm...maybe ice in zip
lock bags could work - does anyone have any experience with that? I want to
avoid leaks in my brandy-new car!

Plenty, and then some. At least twice a day, drain the cooler, once
in the evening, and again in the morning before you put it back in the
car. Once drained, get more ice, and fill to your comfort level. I
usually get ice at the hotel (most will let you refill your coolers).
And, if you can afford the room, take two coolers, one for your meat,
cheese, and other parishables, and put your drinks in the other one.
That way, if something leaks it doesn't ruin everything else.

if you don't want to get your new car all dirty inside, don't snack, or if
you must, snack at a pit stop.

if you don't want to get your new car all dirty inside, don't snack, or if
you must, snack at a pit stop.

If you're planning on pit stops and eating every 3-4 hours, then you
won't need car snacks.

Do you eat more than every 3 hours when you're not in the car?
