Energy From Glycogen In Muscles vs Body Fat
6 days on a lo carb diet definitely less then the right kind of 20
carbs a day with 30 minutes of strenuous bike riding in the morning and then again in the evening. Yesterday evening, the sixth day I was feeling particularly hungry and listless and my evening bike ride was very difficult and another egg or piece of meat was not going to do it this time so I indulged in one of my favorite meals dry cereal with nuts and dried fruit. It wasn't cake and cookies but it was a carbohydrate smorgasbord. The next morning back on lo carb and I had the same breakfast as the past six days two hard boiled eggs at 6:00am and a hamburger patty at 10:00am and began my ride at 10:30am. Well I felt great and it was a great ride and this afternoon I still feel good and have not eaten yet. My question pertains to whether or not it is easier for the body to get energy from the glycogen stored in muscles as opposed to breaking down body fat ( or from digesting proteins ) and if so then I am afraid that 20gr of carbs per day after a week does not meet my requirements. Of course I could have just had a bad day yesterday and a good one today : ) |

Energy From Glycogen In Muscles vs Body Fat
"Eric Nadeau" wrote in message ble.rogers.com...
snip Go check the web site of Dr. Gregory Ellis. He explains that it may take 20 weeks for the body to fully adapt to low-carb diet, as the body must step up its production of enzymes to burn fat. http://www.targetedbodysystems.com/artspo2.html Nice link. Thanks. |
