It's not nearly as bad or out of control as in past incarnations. I'm

still
keeping my weight under control, which is a good thing. I'm adding

cross
country skiing to the exercise routine this weekend!

You earlier said that you no longer weigh yourself, as part of your
therapy. How would you know that your weight is under control?

i

One doesn't have to weigh to know they're keeping their weight under
control. I can tell by the fit of my clothes.

Beverly

Well, you know, that's just too much common sense. I mean, my jeans won't
tell me if I gain 1 pound therefore throwing me completely out of control.
Actually I do weigh in with my clinic weekly and I don't ask what the scale
says - I stand backwards. I've been promised that if there was a need to
cut back on my intake that I was somehow oblivious to, they'll tell me.

I can weigh myself when I decide is the right times to do it, usually
once a month when I'm sticking to my WOE. But if I have to go for a
check up that involves being weighed on different scales and at a
different time of day (as happens with my annual HRT checkup) I look
away and ask the nurse not to tell me what the scale says.

I'm also one of those who doesn't step on the scales each day. I try to
remember to weigh-in at Curves each month but often let it go for 6-8 weeks.
The scale doesn't measure the things I'm interest in improving. I'm more
interested in improving my overall physical condition, bone density, bf% and
other measurements of my health.

"Getting hung up on the numbers on your scale draws attention away from your
body's many strengths and abilities. In serious cases, it can lead to an
eating disorder." Kelley Brownell, Ph.D., director of the Yale Center for
Eating and Weight Disorders

I'm now hung up on a better set of numbers -
BP/Chol/BF%/RHR
# of miles I can do in 90 minutes
% of mile pace decline over time
# pounds to push, pull, or squat
# of people who tell me on a regular basis how fit & athletic I look - even
in spandex (LOL)

Jenn
who has a disorder that doesn't let her process certain numbers rationally

Sorry for my delay in responding! I've been too busy to keep up with the
posts for a few days!

I've done some research and got myself good and freaked. I have a general
idea of what to expect next, but only time will tell. There are some

things
that were going on a few years ago that never were resolved that I realize
may be part of the whole thing now that I read up on this. As it is, this
is probably something I've had for a long time but was either exasperated

by
the diet or the weight loss.

Have you found out anything new from doctors since this post? I always
think about worse case scenerios too when I do research on health issues....
don't get too freaked out!

I am glad that you are not turning to food for comfort. Using exercise

to
help with stressful issues is a major turning point to how you used to

deal
with stress.

I'm still stress eating, only not in the same quantities or the same food
choices. There are still times when the exercise isn't enough, but they

are
few and far between. I've been able to keep my weight under control.

Good... I am glad to hear that!

Best wishes... and I hope they figure out what is wrong asap....

Thanks PG. I'm keeping my ovaries crossed for ya and the fertility stuff

I won't keep my legs crossed though *evil grin*

I'm in the process of getting all of my stuff sent down to the new guy and
setting up an appointment to travel down there. Right now I'm literally in
the extremes of this month's reaction. I have some meds to try and relieve
some of the symptoms, like antibiotics again for the zits. So far any
medical person I've spoken to has been rather concerned because adrenal
stuff can be serious, so that doesn't help my peace of mind.

Umm, yeah, that might be counterproductive

Hang in there Jenn... Have you tried tetracycline for the acne? I took that
in high school and it worked very well.

I'm highly allergic to tetracyclene which is why they give me biaxin.
