Another 2 or 3 pounds gone
Hello everyone,
Just wanted to report that I've lost another 2 to 3 pounds since I last reported. I think I just got through my second plateau since I started losing weight. About two weeks back I had gotten down to 225 and until now I had fluctuated between 225 and 227. Today after a walk and the stairs, I got on the scales and it showed me between 222 and 223. That's an amazing 77 to 78 pounds now and I'm glad to get past that what seemed like a sticking point. The good thing is I didn't freak out although there were a couple days that I was a little bit angry because of the weight sticking. Another good thing is I have a couple of job prospects going on right now. As you may or may not know I haven't worked in the last two and a half years since my accident, and now I'm freaking out because I haven't worked in a while and searching for work under my conditions is scary as hell. I'm sure when I get a job, I'll probably stop my daily walks, except on the weekends, but will continue the stairmaster after work. I hope everyone is doing great on their weight loss or maintenance. Sincerely, Paul 300/222/175 |

I have a career counselor that has helped me somewhat, but I've already been
on two interviews that I thought were great, but they didn't go through though. I really feel pretty comfortable in interviews. The only thing that's killing me is the last two and a half years without working and the tough job market right now with a bunch of computer techs out of work. Take care, Paul "Ignoramus6526" wrote in message ... Great job. Do you have someone to conduct a pretend tough job interview? i In article , Paul wrote: Hello everyone, Just wanted to report that I've lost another 2 to 3 pounds since I last reported. Hey Paul,
That is great about the continued weight loss! Could you find a treadmill to walk on in the mornings before working? Why couldn't you walk before work for 30 mins? I'll cross my fingers for you on the job prospects!! Unfortunately, in this society, it should be easier for you to find a job at the weight you are at now compared to 300 lbs. There is so much fat discrimination going around. "Paul" wrote in message ... Hello everyone, Just wanted to report that I've lost another 2 to 3 pounds since I last reported. Paul, well done on the latest loss.
I wish you lots of success with the job. You could be right about the walks. My last job took up so much of my time I found my exercise went out the window. You may need to be a bit disciplined and find some exercise routine that you can fit in around your daily work. Walking can be less intensive than some forms of exercise, and therefore tends to take up more time. Keep us posted on the job situation. janice On Mon, 2 Feb 2004 20:36:01 -0600, "Paul" wrote: Hello everyone, Just wanted to report that I've lost another 2 to 3 pounds since I last reported. We recently went through some staff reduction here Fortunately our team was not hit. We are swamped in our area. Beverly |

I already have health insurance through my wife's work. I had a phone
interview with IBM last Friday and the job didn't even have ANY benefits. They haven't even seen me yet so I know they aren't discriminating me. My wife work's at American Airlines and after 911 the insurance costs went way up. Anyway a friend of mine is in contact with me almost daily and trying to get me a job with his company. Not only that he would be my boss and that's great news for me. I don't think my weight is an issue anymore, but instead I think my disability is frowned upon as well as being out of work for 2.5 years. I'm not really worried cause I know the Man upstairs is looking out for me and I have a great wife and kids. PG, I could do the treadmill in the morning, but I value my sleep as much as possible and find exercising in the evenings better than mornings. Although when spring roles around and the cold weather leaves us I might get myself up and do some walking. Thanks for the support on finding work. Paul "Beverly" wrote in message ... I think that employers also perceive obese people as lazy and not
productive... as well as health insurance issues. "Beverly" wrote You're right about the discrimination, PG. But you have to look at it from the employer's view, too.
