getting back on track and staying there
I was following weight watchers for 6 months and I lost 30lbs.When I
started I weighed 152.5lbs And I am only 5'4. I reached my goal weight of 125lbs on Sept 11 and became to comfortable with my new look and everyone telling me how good that I looked I gained five of those pounds back, and have decided that it is time to get back to things again, but i was thinking of doing it a little differently how ever this time to see if it would change things. My weight has been holding stronge at 130lbs and I haven't gained anything since Sept 27/03. Which I am greatfull for. I also know that I am lucky that I have only gained 5lbs back. I guess what I 'm trying to ask is since weight watchers is points based and is also low fat and low calories would it be a good idea to combine that with low carb? I'm thinking at most eating the max 100 carbs that way it gives me a little lee way, then once I get used to start dropping. I've already started to cut somethings out, am just looking for other suggests. anything would be greatful. And if anyone, has any problems reading or understanding my post feel free to ask me. As I have been so forwardly told that my post are hard to read...... i appolize for the incovinoce. angie |

getting back on track and staying there
I don't have alot of time for exersice so I mostly do walking when I can I
have tapes that I do at home that I can do 1, 2, 3, or 4 miles by the time I am done. I don't have time for a gym or any other form of exercise because I work midnights and need to sleep during the day. I'm going to start exercising in the morning before I go to bed that way I have no excusses. I also don't eat alot of pasta rice or breads as much as I used to, so I'm okay in that part and the same with potatoes. any other advice would be greatful thanks again for ur response angie have a good week everyone "Jayjay" wrote in message ... Many people combate this little setback to dieting by going about 5lbs below goal before beginning maintenance, knowing that they will probably gain back that 5lbs while adjusting to maintenance. But the good thing is, you've held steady at 130 since, which means you understand maintenance. As for losing the last 5lbs again. What do you do for exercise? Believe it or not, WWpoints is actually also low-ish in carbs. The mainstay of their carby foods is high fiber foods, but if you actually calculate out your calories consumed while staying within your daily point allowance you'd find 1. its low cal, and 2. lowish in carbs and in fat. So, doing what you are doing with decreasing carbs will help. The key isn't in the carbs though. Decrease the crap foods (sugar, white breads, pasta, potatoe, white flour, white rice, etc) and increase the fiber carbs (veggies, fruits, whole grains, etc). But over all, you must decrease calories. ANd if you exercise, you'll also see a change in your body shape, which really can make a huge difference in how you feel abotu yourself. For instance, I'm 5'3" and a few years ago when I first lost my weight and got down to the low 120's I was still unhappy with my body. Then I began working out and now at 130 I fit into the same clothes and look better in them than I did at 120. It was all about working out and building muscle, while also dieting to lose fat. Made a HUGE difference in my overall body image. |

Good job on both improving your writing and losing the weight! Now would be a good time to work on adding some muscle by weight lifting. It'll make you look and feel better and be able to eat a bit more and still maintain. Tonia |

Well, you've got to admit there isn't much OTHER way to hint things than to be forward about it on usenet, right? I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings. You were using IM or cellphone abbreviations and we're forgiving of actual typos and misspellings and English as a Second Language, but not of deliberate misuse of English! It seemed only fair to point it out since you were annoying people needlessly. (And on usenet there isn't much more you can hope for than to have it pointed out without being flamed!) By the way, I agree with doing the 100 carb count: it's part of being a restrained eater to be aware of what's going in your mouth and carbs slip in too easily if you aren't watching them. I think it's a great idea to try this for a while. Eventually it'll be integrated into your normal way of just being if it works for you. Dally |
