You just check the book out of the library for free, like I did.

First, top posting is bad. Put your comments AFTER the line you're
responding to. Otherwise conversations don't work right.

Second, there was no link shown in the stuff you're quoting.

Third, google for it.

Fourth, she said to go to you LIBRARY. There is such a group.

I hate bottom posting, cause it makes it a hassle to get to what you want to
read, even more with all the sig file n stuff...

So.. bottom posting is bad..

You need to bottom post if you're doing a point by point rebuttal.
If you're tempted to top-post, you should probably consider not quoting
ANYTHING, just say what's on your mind. This ain't email; we have threads
for messages, someone who needs the previous context can get it one way or
the other.

I will bottom post when there's a conversation going. because it's easier
that way. or if I'm doing a point by point discussion, then I post in the
previous poster's message.

If there isn't a continuous conversation then it doesn't matter. I'm just
tired of people telling others what to do.. top post, bottom post, trim
everything but the last poster, leave the whole conversation, trim
everything, don't trim everything because then we don't know what you're
answering to...

This is a fairly simple communication medium... if top posting is enough to
throw you off, maybe you need some help somewhere..

Some people here have been at it forever, they know "nettiquette" by heart
and can be pedantic bore about it. Some people here are brand new, have no
clues about it, and get shamed into not ever posting again by the oldie's
"demands". Some people (like me) have a general idea of nettiquette, will
try to follow it, forget sometimes, and all around think what is said is
more important than how it's said.

It's like spelling... going around correcting people's spelling is about the
rudest thing.. even more if you keep in mind that not everybody in the world
is english speaking (OH MY GOD? REALLY?)

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I couldn't agree with you more Will,, but I guess we're in the
minority. I like to flip through the posts and just read what's
visible immediately, not have to scroll down for it. If I've
forgotten what the post's about, then it's up to me to scroll but only
if I choose - most of the time I wouldn't need to.

I remember a time when this group was very much in favour of top
posting and everyone did it. The only thing worse than bottom posting
is when half the group does one thing and half the other, which is why
I finally had to give in and go with the flow.
