I finally broke the 200 pound curse and weighed in
at 199 this morning.

Congratulations! Getting back down into the 100's was the most significant
milestone of all for me. Somehow it "proved" that I could do it, and that I
wasn't destined to shop at Lane Bryant for the rest of my life... lol.
Sweet.... enjoy it, you deserve lot of applause.

Damnit, I'm sticking at 202 and won't budge it seems. I'm worried my husband
will get there before I do. I'd have to kill him.

Man, there are a lot of us in this weight group.

Lots of former size 22's. Does anyone else look at regular size clothing and
feel like your going to get stuck trying it on?? I look at the button down
shirt in the closet and think- no way- I'll get stuck. Since we were in the
military traveling around, I look at my old clothes and think of where we
lived- I'm in my "Germany" clothes now

Clothes shopping is new fun, but at 200 lb I don't want to spend the month.
I had to leave the store wishing someone would grab me and tell me what to
buy.

LOL! I started a size 22, and when I held up the misses size 16 the other day
"no freakin' way" was exactly what went through my mind. Same with the size
Large (not XL or XXL, just L!) tops I dug up recently. I put them back because
I can't imagine that they'd fit, but then realize that my old stuff is huge on
me now, and people will start to think I'm hiding a pregnancy if I keep wearing
it. I try to keep things realistic though. I'm still fat. I don't wear shorts,
tank tops or cap sleeves as a public service. And the vast number of very LARGE
people wearing very SMALL articles of clothing at a fair last weekend made me
tell my husband that if I ever tried to go out looking like that, he was to
lock me in the closet until my common sense and respect for my fellow man
returned. shudder

Its hard because you want to look stylish and wear things you haven't worn
in a while. I've cut several inches off of my shorts inseams, only to need
to cut more- I didn't care how clothes fit on me, I wouldn't even go in the
dressing room. I'm now throwing those cloths out or altering them if
possible, including the 2x t-shirts that are 6 inches too long. The best
part of a pair of jeans that fit is the snug support. Of course I don't turn
blue tying my shoes any more either.

I was shopping with my son yesterday- it's sad to find all the huge clothes
out there. You can fit a whole family in some of those T shirts. way too
big- we will be a nation in hiding
