Default Excellent day

The offspring was riding a 26-mile 2-up team time trial today - early
season. Husband & I were on marshalling duties at one of the turns. At event
HQ were a load of people who I haven't seen for months - and I was 48lbs
heavier then. I got *loads* of "You've lost weight, well done" and "You're
looking good." I do like getting compliments :-D

Cheers, helen s

This is not to take anything away from Helen S's most Excellent Day,
but Fred, your comment triggered some thinking about my own
circumstance.

I think I bought into all the external comments as I got closer to my
WW goal that I'd already lost enough weight and the warnings about
getting too skinny. Not ever having any experience dealing with that,
I think I let the opinions of others influence me. I especially needed
to hear this today as I get ready to spend with the day with my mother
and brother, neither of whom were ready to rearrange their image of me
as the fat one in the family. Unfortunately, in the last few months,
I've done my part to accommodate that image. This time, while my
weight gain and loss is mostly seen and felt as tighter fitting
clothin, the weight loss won't be as dramatic and thus, I'm not as apt
to receive comments, positive or negative, from anyone. This time,
it's just me and my own demons. Fortunately, I'm relieved to say that
the faint sparks of that switch connecting to ON are finally
flickering.

Compliments stoke the fires of motivation, especially if those fires
are barely giving any heat. Congratulations for being noticed!
