Don't know. Why would you waste 79k of bandwidth by repeating the

whole
thing in your message just to add a two line response?

Because Google Groups Beta is a poor performer with a lot of
inconsistent behavior. The repost of the entire contents of the
original is usually masked. Unfortunately in this case GGB did not.
I'd use another News (NNTP) Server with a better News Client like
Agent, 40tude or Gravity that can be accessed on Port 80 instead of the
default Port 119 if I could find one. So far GINYF on this one.

Now that's kind of spooky.... I thought the same thing.

Great minds must think alike. I had the same thought.

Every time I see "meat-laden diet" my eyes glaze over. What is it about
this diet that people just refuse to understand? I eat far healthier than I
ever have in the past. Tonight I had 2 fillets of cod with chipotle and
onion and a good helping of broccoli. And, yes, that is a typical meal.
Maybe *that's* why they refuse to fund a study... they couldn't keep bashing
it if they actually polled some real people.

Exactly. Everyday I am leaving local grocery with bag full of veggies of
fruits.

Does it really matter there is no bread or junk-food in it?

I had a blackened chicken and steak combo. Just helping even it out.

LOL, thanks!
I went out and bought some ground buffalo meat for hamburgers and stood up
on the case and announced, "I am on Atkin's and I love meat!" After I
gathered enough attention, I charged people to come smell my ketone laden
breath.

Really, though, if you haven't had buffalo give it a try. I personally
think it's much better than beef. Less fatty, more protein, great taste.
Even the lady at the register asked if I'd had it before. She also asked a
"Here's your sign" question, querying, "Do they still raise buffalo?" I
missed my opportunity to tell her I actually killed a buffalo back in the
deli and ground it up since they aren't raised for market anymore. Clean up
in Aisle 5!

It matters to bread makers, wheat growers, pasta makers, etc. You know,
those people who got the "food pyramid" approved.

Deer meat is low fat and high protein. Also, it tastes good.

Written by someone who clearly IS NOT a carboholic.

Im not an idiot....I KNOW we also need some whole grains and fruit in
the LONG run. ut nobody is gnna die of malnutrition during the initial
weight loss stage. I have every intention of adding a couple slices of
whole grain bread AFTER I lose my weight....and to tell the truth if
people really NEEDED fruit to live....Id be one dead SOB, because never
eat the stuff, anyway. I DO take Vitt C and a heavy duty multi with
minerals. nd I didnt buy tem from Dr. Atkins, thank yoium very much.

On top of that....unless the secret to life is lima beans, corn and
potatoes, or unless there's a secret substance in pasta we dont know
about....WTF are we MISSING in our diet?

We EVOLVED on meat.....LOTS of it, and the stuff we found growing out of
the ground, especially the GREENS. Civilization was already pretty
advanced when somebody figured out how to change wheat to flour, then to
bread. How much fruit grew in western Europe where most of us claim our
genetic heritage? The occassional apple and some berries??? How much
frickin fruit do you think the Vikings ate? The Celts? Oh yeah, LOTS
of citrus in IRELAND.

Im eating my meat and greens.....and I feel fne. Dont tell me my life
depends on lima beans and corn.....especially when Im consuming MORE of
the REAL deal, GREENS, than I ever have, before.

ON top of that....the average American is living on fast food, french
fries, pizza and ice cream ALONG with their lima beans, corn and pasta,
for cryin out loud.....and guess what....64% of them are overweight, the
single biggest connection to heart disease and diabetes. Dont TELL me I
wont be healthier when I lose my forty pounds.....grumble,
cuss....eating my natural diet of MEAT and GREENS, especially once I can
add a resonable amount of whole grain.

IF NOT....they can put on my tombstone: "Here lies the body of
LassChance....she died from a lack of lima beans."

YOU GO GIRL! I will never believe that a future filled with veggies,
greens, proteins, and some grains and fruit is going to be unhealthy.
Especially compared to the starch- and sweet-laden diet that got me where I
am in the first place. Sing it, sister!

You are quite correct. The original author of the article, Dr. Michael
Gregor, is essentially a vegetarian and supports vegan diets. Most of what
he stated in his article consists of selected "facts", distortions of facts,
and downright suspected fabrications (though not necessarily his own),
although a lot of his "facts" are not documented. A chef referred to him as
"the Michael Moore of nutrition", apparently intending it as a compliment.
However, I do agree with that chef.

Just for your info folks.... 5 years without one fruit, grain or bread
here. That's zero in 5 years. All bloodwork and health perfect. I now eat
maybe an apple and some berries maybe twice a month as a treat. Looks like
it's not needed.
