The Healthy Heart Miracle ???????????

Anyone here ever read or try the book The Healthy
Heart Miracle by Gabe Mirkin?

I have a buddy of mine (big guy like me) whos
doctor recommended he read and follow it,
so far after the first week he is down 11 lbs and
feeling great!

I just wonder (haven't got or read the book) but
the general prinicle from what I understand
from my friend is that he eats a bowl of oatmeal
for breakfast, and for lunch and dinner he eats
a large salad with fat free or reduced dressing
and I think he does that for 2 weeks to start,
then
slowly starts introducing other foods into the
mix...

I am sure there is more than that to it all and
that was just the JIST of it from my friend real
quick
(again haven't read the book yet) but I gotta say
I was impressed with is 11 lb loss and the fact
he said he was eating well and drinking lots of
water etc etc.

For me I experimented (I am a big guy too) with
Oatmeal for breakfast (real oatmeal) with
strawberries
and a salad for lunch and salad for dinner plus
about 1/3 the portion size of my normal dinner
meal
(wife not willing to do it with me) so I ate a
small plate after my salad of dinner for the last
few nights...

Anyways 4 days later here I am down 4 lbs, and
still feel as tho I am eating healthy and whatnot
(altho
I know im not following the books plan 100%) but
it has me interested enough thru my friends
success
and thru the simplicity of it (and it sounds like
its all healthy foods), to wonder if anyone else
here
could fill me in a bit about the book or it's
plan - good or bad???

Thanks for any input,
Bill
