Friday... again.

I haven't gained either and yes I know that's a Good Thing(tm) - But working hard on the track to walk 5-6 miles each day and 3 miles on my bike each morning. Watching my calories/intake carefully to stay under 1600 calories a day. You would think that I would at least lose a single friggin POUND! ^%#@@!!#@ - ARGH. I'm now considering maybe a 2-3 day Fast. Any thoughts on that? Susan 260/219/160 Susan, you WILL lost again. I'm certain of it. Rather than a fast, I'd recommend that you seriously consider a refeed day. Go out somewhere and eat a great dinner -- eat 2500-3000 calories for the day or so. Then do a couple of days a little below your 1600 average. Then got back to 1600. Seriously. This often will get the weight loss started again. And even if it doesn't, an extra couple of hundred calories isn't going to hurt you. Chris |

And this is how I've always had weight loss work for me. I go down a few lbs, then wobble, then steady then breath, before the weight loss drops again. I've never lost weight in a steady flow/stream. I've always dropped quick, then wobble, then stedy out for a while before dropping again. Just like the drunk woman trying to walk down a flight of stairs. :-) This is just how mine has been too. If you're interested, here's my latest weightloss graph: http://www.mill-creek-systems.com/wc.htm You'll see that I had many several-week periods at the same weight -- not long ago, 5 weeks at 191-192, then another 4 weeks at around 186. If you look at just one of those little periods, it doesn't look very impressive. But the overall chart ain't bad :-). Just keep keepin' on! Chris 262/178/??? |

Friday... again.
"Beverly" wrote in message . .. I know how frustrating it can be when the weight just refuses to let go! Have you tried drinking extra water, changing the type of exercise for a few days, cut back on carbs? I find that if I have a day where I drink a lot of water (2-3 gallons in a day) I see a more significant weight loss. OTOH if I drink a lot of diet pop I retain like crazy from the sodium. Sitting in these workshops and classes all week and driving distances I've been drinking water like it's going out of style. Tonight however, I drank a 2-liter bottle of diet ginger ale because it's one of my favorites and not carried by any of the stores at home. I will be bloated tomorrow. Jenn |

"Mieko" wrote in message ... Hang in there Susan. You're doing an amazing amount of exercise, and your body is probably still trying to get used to not smoking. I am in totally in awe that you have quit smoking and NOT gained weight. I would have thought five or so pounds would have been forgivable. Forget about frustration. You should be celebrating. And, yes, the weight will come off in good time. Read what Det., et al wrote about re-feeds. Have you been doing any measurements? waist size, etc? Are your clothes getting looser? Maybe you're gaining some muscle? I know it must be really frustrating to not see any change in the scale, but you are on the right path with what you're doing. When my weight has been staying the same, it seems that my BF% goes down that same week. It's good to know that "something is going on." :-) I mean, intellectually I know that I haven't gotten off track or anything but it's still good to see that show up in some number somewhere! |

Friday... again.
"Susan Jones-Anderson" wrote in message ... No. I'm not eating too much. I am logging everything as I faithfully have been since June 15th. Same typical fare I have been eating since June.. oatmeal.. chicken/beef..lots and lots of leafy greens and fruit. 0 refined sugar. 0 bread/potatoes. I attempted to have a "healthy choice" frozen entree lastnight for the first time and it was disgusting. Even my dog was hesitant when he got the 3/4 of it I didn't eat. So having some ready made entree's is out if they are those kind lol. I know this is a long shot, but it has just occurred to me that alot of LC dieters restrict sweeteners such as nutrasweet, equal etc because it hinders their losses. I have been chowing on at least a pack of "sugarless" gum(usually shared with my kids) each day since I quit smoking. Maybe I am having too much? Grasping I know. Susan 260/219/160 --- 1month 2days 5:45hours of being smoke-free, 1,289 cigs not smoked, $238.47 saved, 4day 11:25hours of my life saved You just stopped smoking. That's changed and slowed down your metabolism. Remember how hard your poor little heart had to work when you smoked. Give it a bit more time before you do something drastic. Martha |
