Happy Turkey Day!
Well, as the saying goes...things get curiouser and curiouser...
I had a hard workout and climbing session last night and my knee was sore throughout the night and today, so I'm taking it easy. Can't have a sore knee if I'm going to ski this season. Work is too weird (and not in a good way) right now. Looks like I'll be job hunting in January as the head office is inventing new rules and procedures that run in direct opposition of many of my own philosophies (to put it briefly). But, since I've already done the "job hunting thing" this year, I'm good at it. : ) I'm not worried, just ****ed off. And, as Ahnold said in T3, "anger works better than self pity" or somethiing like that. Bunky's cancer hurts him sometimes. He'll meow in a tone when I know he's in pain and needs his medicine. That tugs at my heart. But, he takes after his mom, he's already lived 3 years longer than the vet said he word. Stubborn cat. : ) I've earned the nickname "froggy" because my voice is so scratchy right now. My ex used to love it when I had this smokey voice. I just want to be able to breath. But, even with all the above, I'm in good spirits. I'm going to a friend of my friend Robert's tomorrow for dinner. I'm making a Chocolate Genois Cake, one of my specialties. It's the best chocolate cake on the planet. Chocolaty, but not overly sweet. If I'm going to bring (and have) dessert, I'm going to have the best. I'm also bringing a couple bottles of wine I've tucked away. I have about three cases *tucked away* btw. : ) I've known Robert a long time (10+ years) and we just recently decided to *date*. Weird indeed...... So, it'll be a fun time, nice and comfortable with nice people, good food and drink. I realized that ya gotta love Thanksgiving...it's completely non-secular. I know the tasks ahead of me are great, but nothing I can't handle. Hell, I can climb a wall, I can deal with life. : ) May all of you have a wonderful Turkey Day and enjoy the time with your loved ones... Martha |

Well, you really don't know what a job will be like until you've been there a while. In this case, we are the credit union for a major airline and the board of the credit union decided (and imo, probably the correct decision for the CU as a whole) to separate from the airline. But, when I joined it was more entwined in the troubles than anyone told me. So, no one was really honest with me. I got thrown in the hornets' nest, so to speak. I don't feel bad about leaving, except for all the **** involved....at least I'm really good at interviews and resumes. I ROCK at those... : ) Bunky's cancer hurts him sometimes. Oh that's right, other than football, all you have to do in the Cold North is ice fish, what fun. : ) Martha Who's going for a wonderful hike on Mt. Happy Turkey Day!
I've got a story that rivals these about dating your friends. As most
here know from my past posts I just recently broke off an engagement with a guy named Mark. Well, I live in a very small town and always have. So word got around that Suzi is single again and looking good with her weightloss. When I was 16 years old I used to baby-sit for a family here in my little village and I absolutely had the biggest crush on James (the guy I was babysitting for) So over the years we have developed this incredible friendship although he is 20 years older than me. During life's ups and downs we have been together but never really a relationship where we went public with it. During separations from whoever we were with at the time, sometimes even when we were still both involved with other people. So the *day* I broke it off with Mark, who calls me? James. And for the first time in both our lives we are single at the same time and actively(publically) dating which is just setting this little backwater town on its ear. I think its so funny the looks and responses we get from people when we are out together. His children who are only slightly younger than me have been the most supportive. My parents response when I told my mother that I was bringing James to Thanksgiving dinner (we do ours at night) was "You're kidding?" LOL. I got the biggest hoot out of that (James is only 3 years younger than my father). The other reason we get these very surprised responses is that I am one of the biggest land owners in this little area. He is one of the biggest cattlemen in this area as well, so its almost like 2 very powerful forces are creating an alliance. LOL, that looks silly when typed out, but that's how it is. Anyhow, that's whats going on in Suzi's life today. I hope each and everyone here has a terrific holiday. I have decided not to weigh this week until Friday and I can tell by my clothes I will be a bit disappointed with no loss. Which is ok for now, I've missed walking a few days and haven't been watching my eating as close as I should have. So next week will be a bear to get back on track. I'm ok with it though. I needed a little respite from it all. Susan(happy with things.. 260/202/160 --- 2month 2weeks 5days 5:54hours of being smoke-free, 3,209 cigs not smoked, $593.67 saved, 1wweek 4day 3:25hours of my life saved "rosie read and post" wrote in message news ..............................
