Medium-size goal and large-size feet
Tonight's weigh-in saw me lose 3.6lbs. Which is spiffy, and I'm quite
happy with it. But what's even better is, that puts me at an even 52lbs lost. Hooray! Friend of mine was going to throw me a party when I hit 50lbs. As luck would have it, she's just gone home to the UK for 3-4 weeks to do passport and visa stuff, but she said we'd have the party after she got back. The bright side of this is, at least I've now got time to plan food for it Anyway, that's my news. The only other thing I have to talk about is shoe shopping. I doubt anybody remembers, but I was gonna go look for some last weekendish, to celebrate the fact I can actually walk around a bit now without pain. I had absolutely zero success, because I have large feet for a girl (11W, US women's). Out of five shops, only three actually had *any* shoes in my size, and the ones they had were hideously ugly. I should note that I limited myself to sandals; there probably would've been a few more had I been looking at all shoes. But this is Texas, you can wear sandals year-round here, and I generally prefer them. If I can ever find any. I've tried looking around online, too: generally shoes that come in my size can be found a) on stripper clothing websites, and b) only with high, stiletto-type heels. Which'll be great after I've lost enough weight that I can wear heels like that easily, but right now I can't. How hard could it be to find size 11W platform open-toe sandals in pretty designs and colors? Apparently very. So, I'm giving up on the shoe thing for now. Perhaps I'll try again in spring, when hopefully sandals will flood the market in all sizes. -Tay 415.4/363.4/170 lb (52lbs lost) 188.4/164.8/77.1 kg (23.6kg lost) 29st9lb/25st13lb/12st2lb (3st10lb lost) BMI's dropped 7 points too |

Congratulations on your loss so far.
As another large footed woman, I sympathize with your shoe problem. Last weekend, I tried on some crocs. They were very comfortable and surprisingly light. If we weren't about to head into winter, I probably would have bought some. Take a look at their open toed ones and see if they fit your specifications: http://www.crocs.com/consumer/product_details/nile/ Good luck! Mary |

I've got everyday Birkenstocks, I just wanted something nice for wearing around. Those, however, only go up to size 10. Which sucks, because I *really* like them. -Tay |

I've tried that with places before, and usually get told 'if we don't list it, we don't have it and can't make it, that's all there is'. The few places who will make special-size shoes tend to be the expensive shops, who, since they already charge an arm and a leg, are already equipped to charge extra for special orders. It may well end up being cheaper just to wait until spring. -Tay0 |

Congrats on losing over 50 lbs, keep up the great work. Take at look at this site, it has a bunch of shoes in size 11. http://auctions.overstock.com/cgi-bi...nline&PERPG=50 Debbie "Tayra" wrote in message ... Tonight's weigh-in saw me lose 3.6lbs.
