It was nightmare status. and even odder is I never binge like that. If I
get on a "one food" kick it is eaten until it is gone but not in a hurry or
in large quantities at a sitting. just normal portions until it is gone, Lee

The problem with this world is stupidity, now I'm not saying there

should
be capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the
safety labels off everything and let the problem solve itself?

the whole wheat choice I get is the linguini with marina sauce. You

can
substitute it for any pasta. some of their sauces are quite high

points.
I
get it and the sauce on the side. I think it is very low point but

I
like
to control sauces. They have a "garden" menu with nutrition listed.

I
get
the minestrone soup. It used to be one point per bowl but is now

two
and
an
excellent starter. The salad is good just get the dressing on the

side,
and
some have ff dressings. their chicken breast is usually good. I

can't
speak to their red meats as I rarely eat those in restaurants. DH

gets
a
dish there that has peppers in it but I think it is pork, I am

trying
the
salmon next time, and I usually get the eggplant parmesan and

substitute
the
whole wheat pasta. Lee, can you tell I like this place???

Oh good. I have been dying to try that place. We went to an

Italian
restaurant last night. No whole wheat pasta there. I ended up with

filet
mignon and a baked pototoe (used milk not butter) for a total core
dinner.

I'm with you 100%. I am journaling and counting my points both

under
the
Flex plan as well as for Core. I am eating healthier and

feeling
better
everyday. I've lost .8 and hope for an equal or better loss

next
Saturday.
I
get an extra 5 days next week because I go from a Tuesday PM

WI
to
a
Saturday AM WI. Tonight's dilemma is dinner. Italian. This

I hear ya..

What I do is that I try to eat mostly out of the core list..

and
the
things
I eat that are "non core" I choose carefully.. but I still

trak
and
count
the points.. so it IS flex plan.. but with a little core

twist..
works
for
me too. Since I've started doing that I feel more in control

and
solid..
)

For me the good side of core is that it helps me making

better
choices..
I
also re-evaluate my "am I hungry" feeling everytime I go for
food..
made
me
more aware of that.. and I am staying within my point easily

since
I
started
doing that *blush*

But me being me I can't do without traking.. maybe it's just

a
mind
thing..
but then Weight loss is a mind thing isn't it ? That's what

works
for
me,
doesn't mean it'd work for others.. I do know that there are

some
really
successful members who are following the core plan..

That great actually.. something for everybody ;o)

I really do prefer the eating style of core but it may

have
to
give
way

the need to journal. I want to give it a fair chance as I

think
it

I lost 2 pounds last week. Like Laura, I did not

increase
my
portion
size -
I was happy the way that was, but I did switch from

1
pt
boca
burgers
to
2-3
pt veggie burgers, and from egg substitutes to real

eggs,
so
I
think
my
point count is probably up.

Unlike Laura, however, I don't see that I'm eating
"heathier".
I'm
eating
the same amount of veggies, the same amount of

wine/beer.
What's
gone
(or
greatly reduced) is the whole wheat bread,

tortillas,
english
muffins.
I
don't see any of those foods as unhealthy, just a
different
type
of
food.

I do think the higher protein/lower carb ratio did

help
break
me
out
of
a
plateau, so I'm sticking with it for another week

(or
maybe
more).
I
cannot
see myself staying on this plan as a life choice, so

I'm
sure
I'll
go
back
to the Flex Points plan.

My one problem with the Core Foods plan is the lack

of
tools
for
tracking
those 35 points. Sure there's a little note pad, but

it's
a
pain -
it
doesn't reset each day. And, my recipies that I've

entered
aren't
showing
up
in the calculator search, so I can't figure points

on
those
if
I
have
more
(or less) than one serving. You also have to reset

the
35
points
back
to
zero yourself, and figure your own activity points.
