I'm just wondering about something from the fitday website, for those
of you who use it. You know how it gives you the basic amount of
calories burned from your lifestyle (work, etc)? How accurate do you
think that is? I'm just wondering because it says that I'm normally
working off about 4000 calories a day and I find that to be high. I
do have a job where I work pretty hard, but that seems like a lot of
calories to burn in a regular day. So with that, do I not add on the
walking/lifting and whatnot that I do at work? Does that count for
all activity at work? I'm kind of confused about that.

It is helping me a whole lot with portion sizes and carb/fat/calorie
intake though. Great site.

Thanks for your help.

Fitday is known for grossly overestimating calories burned, unless you
enter "sedentary" for activity level, and add activities individually.

You have to remember that FitDay is including your basal rate in your
total. 4000 isn't so high if you have a high basal rate and expend a
reasonable amount of energy during the day. FitDay rates me at a similar
total expenditure.

FitDay is wrong on burn rate. Find BMR calculators on websites and enter
the value as custom in FitDay.
