my enemy- the scale- finally budged- a bit!
me again- thanking all for the warm welcome and good advice. for
phoenix- not my first diet- sad to say! I lost a gob a weight 6 years ago to have my son, gained during the pregnancy and just kept gaining. I got a very strict diet from my doctor at that time, which worked well for me, and that is the one I am trying to do again. It is essentially a no carb type of diet, lots of low fat protein, no restriction on low carb fruit and veggies. I was very active to boost my metabolism and did manage to lose about 60 pounds in about 5 months. So today is about the month mark, and I am being a very good girl this week. Even starting exercising- finally. Just walking mainly. But the good news is that the scale blinked- down a whopping 3 lbs!!! Hey I will take it! So that's my progress to date. Although hubbie does say that when he hugs me- I seem thinner. and so a new number...262/259/180 lissa |

There will be times when you don't lose or may even gain for no particular reason, just keep that positive attitude and be patient. Someone may have already mentioned this, but I think it's important to view this diet as a way of life. Don't diet just to get down to 180 lbs. It needs to be your diet that you can live with. Otherwise you'll gain it all back and then some. As some say on this group, "Eat less, exercise more, repeat forever." -- Phil M. That's a perfect saying! Hi to all from a lurker. |
