Do you have a cut off point between normal, overweight, obese, morbid, etc using bodyfat percentages? Have seen ones that are age and sex dependent. Based on the last one I saw, I am not obese either. Nor overweight. BMI shows me in the worst light, category wise. But if I'm going to argue the point, why not use the worst case stat. If I pass on that, I must pass on all else. PS- I understand the inherent flaws with BMI (no composition measurement first among them), but it seems to be used in science, the public sector and the private sector, including hospitals and HR plans. You know and I know that it's not great science. But, we (the majority of the country including the folks in our public health sector) use it as a rough guide. That's all. Move on. It's not that big a deal. |
