Default cough syrups?

Ok, I'm getting a cold. I have a closet full of cough syrup but I know
they all have sugar in them. I am looking for a good cough syrup w/o
sugar. It needs to be strong as I usually end up with bronchitis.

Thanks,
Jodie

Robitussin makes a sugar-free cough syrup. Check with the pharmacist.

Hope that helps,

DebH

Although it tastes rather feral (kind of like mouldy liquorice), most
chemists/drugstores will stock a basic 'Senega Ammonia' mixture. It isn't
based on a sugar syrup like most, and is great for clearing mucus off the
chest as well as soothing coughs. If you drink warm water after taking it,
the flavour departs your tongue faster

Most pharmacies carry sugarfree cough syrups for diabetics, but they
are usually near diabetic supplies, rather than with the other cough
syrups.

They come in variations like Robitussin does, containing the same
combinations of expectorant (loosens phlegm), cough suppressant, and
decongestant, possibly antihistamine as well. I'm not sure what you
mean by strong. Over the counter compositions are all the same dosages.
