I only said that because JC implied that I wasn't intelligent. I have no
desire to belong to mensa. To belong to mensa - you need an IQ of 130 or
more.

Well, that's not exactly true. MENSA will accept scores from several
different IQ tests for membership, and different IQ tests have
different scoring systems. An IQ score of 130 on one test isn't the
equivalent of 130 on another.

MENSA admits individuals who score in the upper 2% on standard IQ
tests, and that could be a score of below 130, or it might require a
score above 130. Depends on the test and what scores fall in the upper
2% for that particular test.

And, yes, I too qualify for MENSA, but never joined.

Makes you wonder though about the fact that we're so smart, yet we do
such terribly dumb things WRT our eating habits and as a result, got
fat.

Come to think of it, some of the smartest people I know have a serious
weight problem. Not all of them, of course, but many of them.

Reminds me of a book I read some years ago, after a friend recommended
it to me. I think it was called "If I'm so Smart, Why Do I Eat Like
This?"

Guess it shows that even the smartest of us do awfully stupid things
sometimes.

But we are smart enough to rationalize why and make up reasons. Some people
have no clue how it happened. Whenever I take those online IQ tests - it
comes out around 155-160. My daughter gets closer to 170 (no wonder she got
to skip 1st grade - I only got to start school when I was 4 - almost 5).
