These "natural" cereals are just various grains mixed with assorted
"natural" sugars.

not really. nature's path heritage cereal has only 3g sugar per serving.
natural cereals from the natural food aisle or health store, as opposed to the
"natural" kellog's cereal in the regular cereal aisle, are usually what they
claim to be. you just have to check the label.

Between meals or after you've eaten to prevent yourself eating more grab a
few pieces of strong mint gum (sugar free kind). I find it does the trick of
ruining the taste of other food and so I lose my appetite.

Yeah, the cereal I eat is rather healthy. The entire box has 12
servings each is only 100 calories, making it 1200 (less than what is
required per day) for the box. It has 135mg of sodium per serving, has
a dietary fiber content of 6g (that's 22% of what you need in a day),
1g (negilible) of fat, 4g of protein, and 4g of sugar.

I am not a big fan of those frosted flake deals, nor am I a fan of
anything terribly sweet for cereal. I usually have a serving of this
cereal for breakfast with half a banana with non-fat milk.

Thanks, I'll try to get over it. Just like people have tried to "get
over" alcoholism. Just kidding.

How is it impossible to do? If I overeat 700 calories for any given
day, wouldn't burning the extra 700 calories via exercising take care
of it?

Tell me about it. Restaurant food (especially the decadent but oh-so
delicious Cheesecake Factory's) make me feel horrible about the state
of the American diet.

I am not terribly slim. I used to be a totally gluttonous eater
throughout high school and college (as if food were a precious
resource, really...everything I'd buy from the market would disappear
by the next day!), and I realised it was disgusting and started eating
more conscientiously. So now it's a matter of eating
normally/low-calorie, etc. to recover from overeating.

Ah, but...

If you indulge and eat an extra 750 today.

If you spend an extra 15 mins per day for a week on the treadmill,
that will add up to an extra 440 cals. You would then only need to
decrease your food intake by 50 cals a day for the rest of that week
and you'd equal it all out.

Or spend 1/2 hr extra a day for 6 days you've made it up those 750
cals.

Hey, just wanted to let you know that your math inspired me to see how
many
calories I could burn in an hour if I did a few slow jogging intervals on
the treadmill -- so instead of 240-250 calories, I burned 300 today in
just
over an hour. Now maybe that will help make up for that sugarfree
chocolate
my friend sent me from Las Vegas -- I managed to make 20 pieces last 5
days -- an incredible record for me, but still ...

Mary

LOL... you're spending too much time doing the math. Have you
calculated in the extra calories burned from the thought process -
heck, I think I smell fried brains from here.

And since when do you eat sweets? :-) My how things have changed
in my abscense.

Sugarfree chocolate, sugarfree! The bane of my existence. :-)

Mary
