Does it have testimonials? Don't believe them.
Does it go on to say "results not typical"? That is to keep the
FTC off their backs for making people think they are going to
lose as much weight as the people in the testimonials. It means
they cannot guarantee you will lose the weight, either factually
or legally.
Does it have a pamphlet that says it works with the enclosed
reduced calorie diet and exercise? Then save your money, start
exercising, and work on eating right.
Is this supposed to help with stress eating? One of the cheapest means
of stress management with the most beneficial side effects is exercise.
So start exercising and save your money.

Good post. These ad campaigns go on until some government agency comes down
on them truth in advertising. The "appeal" is so obvious "I'm sorry,
but this is only for people who need to lose a lot of weight." I imagine
some ad copywriter got a major bonus for coming up with THAT one! There are
many ways to sell snake oil and there are always people out there who are
desperate enough to believe in "magic bullets" who will buy the stuff. They
have a radio ad running mentioning "a certain cardiac specialist who needed
to lose weight." No clue as to who this might actually be or what studies
support the claim. I could go on...
