Latent Diabetes & Vertigo
I saw a neurologist because of an ongoing, and sporadic vertigo issue
I've had for years. After my recent weight loss, I thought it was BP related, but my BP is under control. After my exam he proposed that I test for possible latent diabetes. He says there was a study that showed an insulin spike somehow affects the inner ear. Sugar level would still show normal or low, so a 2 hour after eating bllod test was done. I'll ket you know the results if anyone cares. Sounds way out there, but interesting. -- "When you win, nothing hurts".... Joe Namath JK www.MyConeyIslandMemories.com |

Latent Diabetes & Vertigo RESULTS
"JKconey" wrote in message ... Test confirms that I am insulin resistant, which is latent or pre diabetes. Treatment is losing more weight, cutting down carbs, and spacing out frequent small meals over time. Irony is that I've been a low carber for 10 years. If I wasn't, he assures me that I would have full blown diabetes by now. The high insulin level causes the occasional vertigo, somehow reacting with the inner ear. It took a brilliant Neurologist to figure this out. -- "Money Won is Twice as Sweet as Money Earned" ... Fast Eddie Felson JK www.MyConeyIslandMemories.com |
