Default Fiber One and inulin

I'm a bit confused on inulin. I believe it is naturally occurring.

Hungry Girl LOVES Fiber One, has lots of recipes with it, and I know Fiber
One makes bars.

Then in a recent WW meeting, tons of people were warning that inulin causes
serious, um, runs, and not to be far from home if you consume these
products.

When I was on Atkins, I learned that many sugar alcohols have this effect if
eaten to excess (defined differently for everyone, I know.).

So, what I want to know is whether anyone has any personal experience, good
or bad, with Fiber One and/or inulin products.

Thanks!
El

I have had experience...For me to much can cause gas...Everyone needs to
find there own level shall we say...I have begun eating less but eating more
real sugars etc and find it more enjoyable...But when I get a craving and do
to much of any of the similar products it can get bad...Sorry to bring it
down to this level but it's is true...At least that's how it works for
me...I thinks it's a way of telling us to much is to much and one way or
another there is no free ride...GG

Too much of anything is too much...

Fiber ones are fine, they are high fibers, low cal... yadada... for some
people it's a ticket to eat 5 bowls of them It's just too much... I use to
eat limited amounts of them, and I was fine. Now I don't really eat them, my
rule of thumb is that if there are too many ingredients I can't pronounce,
then it's not for me! ;o)

Default Fiber One and inulin

I mix 1/2c fiber one or All Bran (extra fiber) with 1/2c cereal for
breakfast most mornings. I have not had any ill effects from this
combination at all. I find that I can go close to 4-5 hours until lunch when
I mix it with my cereal. On days that I don't have cereal I need something
to eat after about 3 hours.

I have noticed inulin listed on more and more foods lately as a way of
increasing the amount of fiber. WW uses it in their cereals. Dannon uses it
their yogurt with cereal. I have never heard/read comments that it can cause
problems for folks.
