Stayed the same, but given that I lost 8 pounds in the previous two
weeks, that's no surprise. I'm just pleased that the weight loss from
those previous two weeks was real, and not just a temporary thing.

I've hit several major milestones all around the same time:

1) Lost more than 50 pounds.

2) Lost more than a quarter of my original weight.

3) Lost two-thirds of the weight I want to lose.

I just need to keep the energy going and not start feeling like I'm
done -- still quite a way to go!

My dinner has been a taco salad or a chef salad 4 nights this week, which is
new for me, and I've lost 3 pounds AND I'm proud of myself because I
have TOM this week and I stayed on track even when I wanted to eat an entire
box of Little Debbie fudge cakes.

5 more pounds to meet September goal.

I'm being visited by TOM, and I'm using that as an excuse for gaining 5
pounds. We'll see next week. :-p

Thanks for posting this - I was starting to get really discouraged. It's
nice to know someone else is successful. It gives me incentive to keep
trying.

I started the week with my first "cheat" so far - we had a big block party
and I had 2 beers, half a fruity drink , 1/2 ear of corn and a slice of
watermelon.

Anyway - Back on track the next day. I've lost 4 out of my 8lbs that I want
to lose for the sept. challenge. Hope I lose more!!

How has your first week gone?

Not badly at all. I weighed in at 200.8 this morning, so I'm right on
track for my monthly goal and within spitting distance of that
tremendous 200-lb milestone! (I actually dipped below 200 one day
earlier in the week, but I knew it wouldn't "stick" - I know the way
my weight fluctuates on the way down.)

What are you doing differently that works?

Hm. Well, what I'm doing differently might not work for some here; I
am eating a few more carbs, mostly in the form of fruits. We got a
peck of wonderful apples from a farmstand in the Berkshires last
weekend and I've really been enjoying them, often with a little peanut
butter or cheese.

But what really seems to work for me is to eat 4-5 small meals a day,
rather than 2-3 larger ones; by "meal" I include something like a
200-300 calorie "snack," like an apple and cheese or a protein-dense
energy bar. I make sure every "meal" has a significant amount of both
fat and protein.
