Share your journey!! Hm. Well, what I'm doing differently might not work for some here; I am eating a few more carbs, mostly in the form of fruits. We got a peck of wonderful apples from a farmstand in the Berkshires last weekend and I've really been enjoying them, often with a little peanut butter or cheese. But what really seems to work for me is to eat 4-5 small meals a day, rather than 2-3 larger ones; by "meal" I include something like a 200-300 calorie "snack," like an apple and cheese or a protein-dense energy bar. I'm doing the HAPPY DANCE!!! Weighed myself this morning and I am at 200lbs. YAHOOOO!!!!! I'm feeling wonderful and I have a new attitude. Before, I was so very 'tuned in' to the scale, but after having reassured myself that I WAS still doing well (each of my measurements except my bust and calf went down by almost 1" last month) even if the scale won't budge, it's not a big deal if it stays the same or goes up 2 or 3 pounds (I know it's water and WILL go away.) I'm enjoying the compliments and smaller clothes, too. I've hit several major milestones all around the same time:
1) Lost more than 50 pounds. 2) Lost more than a quarter of my original weight. 3) Lost two-thirds of the weight I want to lose. I just need to keep the energy going and not start feeling like I'm done -- still quite a way to go! 208/154/130 Started 3/1/04 Awesome!! I'm so impressed!!! ~Carol Ann |
