For dinner, I eat 9-12 ozs of beef (steak or burger) or a 8 oz pork chop
fried in olive oil and garlic. I have a salad with 2 cups iceberg lettuce
and about a cup of sliced vine-ripened tomato.

Your diet is seriously lacking in fiber and other nutrients found in
veggies (especially dark leafy greens). For starters, I'd trade your
iceberg for something a little darker and greener - spinach or
romaine? Iceberg is mostly water - pretty void of any nutrients. Add a
big heaping pile of steamed broccoli or something.

You're losing weight, and that's good. I just don't see you being able
to stick to such a limited diet for the long haul. You need to add
some variety and nutrients to your diet at some point.

That salad mix you make with the dressing, sounds yummy!

Congrats!

Hello all!

I'm writing this post because of what looks like great results I am having
on
the Atkins diet.

On May 15th I started induction, at a weight of 265 and my height is 5'8".
It was holy hell. Headaches for a week. But, I was told to hang tough and
wait it out, so I did. So far, so good.

My diet is very simple, because I HATE to cook, LOL. I have a 4 egg omlette
with 3 oz of mozzarella cheese every morning. I break a rule here. I don't
eat for another 12 hours, because of work. I know that is bad form, but I
just don't feel that hungry.

For dinner, I eat 9-12 ozs of beef (steak or burger) or a 8 oz pork chop
fried in olive oil and garlic. I have a salad with 2 cups iceberg lettuce
and about a cup of sliced vine-ripened tomato. I use an olive oil and wine
vinger dressing with salt, oregano, and garlic powder. I drink about 1/2
gallon of filtered water a day.

My only vice is Starbucks' Tazo Chia tea. I love that freaking stuff, LOL.
So I allow myself a cup during the week and 2 on the wekends. That's my
caffine fix.

So, the results so far? I don't use a scale. I often find them discouraging.
However, I was in a RiteAide yesterday and I see a scale. Ok, I gave in.
I
see my weight and almost pass out. After 109 days i lost 65 pounds!!!! I
am now 200.

I feel good. I have more energy that before. I'm sleeping better. No ill
effects have yet been noticed by me. I'm going to start exercising in Sept.

My target weight is 155-60. I want my 32" waist back and it looks like that
is going to happen. I am very excited. I just hope that there are no long
term health effects. But, staying at 265 for the rest of my life can't be
too healthy either. Pick your poison. I picked mine and I love it.

-Bob

Out of curiosity, what do you plan to do then?
