does the fact that so many old-timers are missing from this newsgroup, mean

It probably means that they have successfully lost the weight and moved
on to other areas. I hope that is the case. Cheri readandpostrosie wrote in message ... does the fact that so many old-timers are missing from this newsgroup, mean that they have stopped eating LOW CARB? |

Perhaps for the pretenders, yes. In the days of high popularity of Low Carb, probably most of the Low Carb practitioners were just pretenders going along with the latest fad. So many ladies wanting to "lose just 5 or 10 pounds" were probably never serious low carb people. Because they only wanted to "lose just 5 or 10 pounds", and not really have to change the way they eat --- for life. At any rate, that is my logic for support of the notion that in the heydays, most of the low carbers were in the "pretender" classification. Just like in any popular diet, there are a lot of "pretenders" doing the latest thing ..... before they do the next diet thing -- and the next. Jim |

Hi Rosie, Maybe some like myself hang around and read the posts hoping something constructive comes along. From time to time it does but submitting a response then exposes one to the wrath of the newest class of "gurus". I too miss reading the updates from others who have been around awhile. By the way I do thank those who present helpful information such as recipes, new product reviews and sources for hard to find items and more. It is always good to see your posts. George |

I read occasionally - too much **** gets posted, especially with the fat
acceptance crossposting. Tara "readandpostrosie" wrote in message ... does the fact that so many old-timers are missing from this newsgroup, mean that they have stopped eating LOW CARB? |

"readandpostrosie" wrote in message does the fact that so many old-timers are missing from this newsgroup, mean that they have stopped eating LOW CARB? I have not stopped eating Lowcarb but found I did not have the time to determine which post were OT and ON topic. Sad to say as it was this group, back in the 90's, that really helped so many. I"m impressed for those like Roger, Aaron and a few others at still attempting to hold things together here. It is good to see the newgroup was not totally taken over. Cheryl down 50plus and holding. |
