Default Importance of fibers in a diet

Has anyone did not get too much success with dieting, and suddenly had
a lot when increasing their intake of fibers to a very high number? I
would say that 50 grammes is a high number. Thanks.

Yes. When my wife and I increased our daily fiber intake to 25-35
grams, we noticed increased weight loss. And lots of water, don't
forget that.

What Mitch said!

I didn't realize how little water soluble fiber I was getting. There are
serveral types of fibers. I take 6 caps * 3 a day of Metamucil caps of
psyllium (water, not fat soluble fiber) a day. It also claims to reduce
cholesterol to somewhere in the 15% range but no time claim, 'cept your
bloodwork telling the truth.

Just there's no RDA% for water soluble fiber. Nutrition labels only list
dietary fiber, not fat or water types.

I'm not a doctor but would love to play one on TV.

Fiber is awesome. Not only will it help with weight loss (cleansing the
system and giving you a fullness feeling so you won't eat much) but it is
supposed to help prevent a lot of those horrible diseases people die from
nowadays.

Of course increased fiber intake will help you lose weight. Fibre acts as a laxative and cleanses you out but just as with laxatives abuse if you use too much on an ongoing basis your body will adapt and you will start requiring more and more to gain the same effects.

Everything in moderation.
