Default low carb shakes?

I am weaning off a doctor's supervised liquid fast. (I have offically
been weaned according to them but for my own sake I want to switch
slowly back to real food.) Since I have had luck with low carb before
- this is my plan to stick with low carb for the rest of what I need
to lose and beyond.

Are there any low carb shakes that taste decent? I am beginning to
wonder if such a thing exists. :/

So far Keto brand is leading on what I have tried but I am hoping for
something better. This is getting expensive to buy things I can't even
manage to gag down (Carb Solutions in a can - smelled/tastes like it
is spiked with alcohol or fermented or something). Advantage Edge is
very watery but ok. The Keto mix was better but still not enjoyable.

I don't plan on using shakes for much longer it's just that I wanted
to try to use one or two a day for a meal replacement the next couple
of months. If I can't do better than the Keto I'll probably just head
to the all-real food realm. I just wanted to try to take things
slowly.

Default low carb shakes?

Hi,

I use the Keto shakes and find them to be good. I use one every morning for
breakfast, since I'm not big on eating when I first get up. Even my 7 year
old nephew, who's not much for breakfast, always asks for a shake when
spends the night. Here's how I make mine, maybe it will make them more
appealing for you.

I take 12 ounces of cold water, add 1 ounce of heavy cream, and 3 scoops of
the Keto mix. Shake that up, and then add 3 ice cubes to it and blend that
up with my stick blender. If you like it creamier and can afford the
calories, make that 2 ounces of heavy cream. By the way, I use 3 scoops
instead of the 2 listed on the can to help meet my protein intake for the
meal and the day.

Hope this helps you out.

Mix the Keto shakes with 2/3c water and top up to the rest of the cup with
ice.. whizz in the blender. They are really good like that and come out cold
and thick like a milkshake. The orange cream is like dessert. I mix up
flavors too.. 1 scoop Cappucino with a half scoop vanilla and half scoop
chocolate.. Hub likes strawberry cream and banana combo.. I HATE banana
anything though (even real ones) so don't have an opinion on that one.

I like to mix flavors too. Haven't tried your combos, but they sound good.
I like to mix the chocolate fudge with either the banana or strawberry, and
did all three once. I called it a Neapolitan shake, after the ice cream.

Mix soft tofu, unsweetened soy milk, and flavoring syrup in a blender.

I wish they sold them in singles so you could try them out before you
get the whole pack of them! That would eliminate part of the problem.
I'll see if I can get somebody to take these off my hands so they
don't go to waste. The low carb buddy is a good idea. I just don't
know if they're interested in MR's but maybe they will be now since
they could try them for free.

I was just going to chuck these out in the name of education. You're
right though – somebody might like them. Good idea.

You will get as many answers as people on this newsgroup. I couldn't
choke down the Atkins coffee shake, the smell alone made me gag - but
I gave the other 3 from the 4-pack to someone at work and he thought
they were fabulous. The only ones I can drink are the EAS chocolate
and that took a few tries. Other people think the choco is gross. I
love the neon pink color of their strawberry shakes though...buwahaha.
So, in my experience, you have to try them yourself - maybe you can
find a lowcarb buddy that you can buy new products with and split the
cost of expermenting. Kalish

Cream! Ohhh, I bet that would help. Might make it thicker too? I'll
pick up a carton. It may salvage this Designer Whey Protein too.

I really like my stick blender too. It is so much nicer to clean up
than the whole blender set up. This last one I got actually will chop
up the ice cubes now whereas the first one I had said not to do that
on the directions. I haven't been doing that lately though because I
get so cold when I drink them. (It's a side effect of being on the
fast for a long period of time.) I tried that again this morning
though, and it does help with the flavor of the shake, it also seems
to thicken it up a bit.

Thanks, Phil S.
