By the way, with all of the weight loss.... does all the exercise you are
doing tighten the loose skin at all???

It seems to be working. My arms and boobs are nowhere near as bad as they
were just a few months ago. The doctor held out little hope in my case that
I'd totally snap back because of how big I was to start with. I'm just
giving it time - I couldn't even think about surgery until after a year of
maintenance and then I'd have to wait for summer so we're looking at summer
2005 for my tummy tuck.

That is great... I am sure that you will keep us all posted with your
updates. Are you nervous about the transition at all?? After all the time,
money and starving I've put myself through... I think I'll have little
incentive to go crazy and waste all I've done to get better.

That was the 1st time I've seen your website... You look GREAT. I hope

I
do
as well as you. As an HMR dieter, your success is inspiring. I haven't
seen a number under 200 on my scale since I was 17.... I hope I can do

as
well as you. I am almost done with week 6..... Anyway, if you don't

mind
me asking, how old are you? I am currently 34. Thanks!!

37 on my last b-day. Getting below 200 was a major deal for me.
Speaking of HMR, I started refeed today. Scale was at 149 and I decided

it
was just time for the potato instead of waiting until next week. I don't
want to lose much more than where I'm at so I need to add the calories.

The
fiber, etc. will cause a temporary gain, but then I'll keep dropping

weight
over the next 6 weeks during the transition to my maintenance calories.

After I get to 190-200, I want to try to get pregnant for the first time
before it gets too late for me. After the baby (hopefully), I'll resume
HMR. I will continue to walk and work out lightly if/when I do get
pregnant, so that I don't gain it all back. Due to the PCOs, it will not be
easy to get pregnant for me.... That is one of the reasons my
Endocrinologist put me on this diet.... so that getting pregnant will be
easier. I am thrilled about losing weight again. At my age, I was getting
worried about my health and longevity. Anyway, thanks for posting!!

How did you guys quit? I smoke too and don't think I can do HMR and quit at
the same time. I've been on wellbutrin for about 3 weeks now and tried to
quit this week. However, life was so stressful, I couldn't and started back
after 2 days....

Thank you so much! Keep up the good work with the cigs! I don't miss 'em
anymore, except for once last night when I stopped at the bar. Then I got
close enough to it that the smell made me ill - which I just love.

I used Nicorette gum when I quit a few years ago. At that time you needed a
prescription for it but you can now buy it OTC.

I am nervous about transition. I just decided that it was time to start
putting to practice all of this great education and advice. I think I'll be
ok because I have so much support and love in my life and I'm finally able
to realize it. Sounds corny, but it really helps to know that I can fall on
my face and have help getting dusted off and back on track.

I ate 6 oz. of baked red potato yesterday with the chicken supplement & hot
sauce on it. I think with the entrees last week it wasn't as momentous as
it might have been had I not had any exposure to food. I ended up getting
very hungry a few hours later and polishing off 2 batches of hmr banana nut
cookies (vanilla supplement, banana sf/ff pudding, black walnut extract,
cinnamon & nutmeg, egg white). It was all good! Tonight I am having a
potato with the soybean chili on top

I don't think about the money, but I do think about the effort I made to get
here. I don't really want to dwell on it all of the time or I may start
feeling like I have to be perfect all of the time and punishing myself for
things I consider "failure." There has to be a balance of awareness and
being conscientious without the extreme rigidity that some of us with eating
disorders tend to fall into. I'm trying to avoid the "all or nothing"
mentality. If I can manage that, I should be able to control my weight
without it being an obsession. It's a long-term change that I don't expect
to happen overnight, but it's my personal goal.

Keep up the good work.
Jenn

I really hope that it works out for you. Losing weight usually does
increase one's fertility and is probably one of the many subconscious
reasons I stayed obese for most of my life (I don't want children).
