Default Food & Exercise -- 7/8/2007 (yesterday)

Yesterday I went to the gym in the morning as usual, and to the pool
for a while in the later afternoon. In the evening DH and I went to
an Austrian wine dinner. This was a planned splurge, but was really
so much more food (and wine) than anyone needs in one meal. It was
fairly healthy food, but would have worked better spread out over
about 3 dinners :-). Anyway...

Food:

* 6:15 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter & flax seed
* 1:00 (home): turkey burger on whole wheat bun w/ 3 slices f/f
cheese, dill pickle, & catsup
* 5:30 (home): several mini-carrots w/ onion dip made w/ f/f Greek
yogurt
* 7:30 -- 10:00 (wine dinner): lots of wine: tasting samples of 4
wines with the appetizers, then 1/2 glasses of 6 others during dinner;
several hors d'oeuvres (~1 oz. cheese, 3 little puff pastry & date
things, a bit of prosciutto, a couple of olives, a couple of roasted
garlic cloves); 1/2 roll w/ butter; "Chilled Asparagus Salad and
Virginia Prosciutto With Extra Virgin Olive Oil"; "Wild Salmon Topped
with Wild Mushroom Ragout Served on Red Lentils"; "Grilled Quail With
Caramelized Onion Marmalade Over Fresh Rocket"; "Colorado Lamb Chops
With St. Laurent Blackberry Reduction With Carrot and Parsnip Puree";
"Pear filled With Stilton Blue Cheese and Walnuts" {All smallish
portions, but still...}

Exercise:

* 10:00: Lifting: machine squats -- a sort of standing leg press; one-
legged rising from seated position; stiff-legged deadlifts; leg
extensions; leg curls; calf extensions; hip abductor; hip adductor
* 11:00: 75-minute yoga class, focus on shoulder opening
* 3:30 -- 5:00: a bit of swimming -- 1 x 4 lengths; 1 x 6 lengths
