Default Food & Exercise -- 10/30/2007

Went for my usual morning run. Then a friend called and asked me if I
wanted to go out to lunch. So we did that, and then hung out the rest
of the afternoon, much of it at the winery. I'm not entirely happy
with my eating today -- and definitely not with drinking so much wine,
after last night's extravagant wine dinner. I'd planned to eat and
drink very moderately today, as well as to get some errands done. It
was a fun afternoon, though. (And this friend doesn't get much time
off from caring for her invalid mother, so it was good to spend time
with her.) But this leaves me with a lot to do tomorrow, as I'm
heading out of town for a few days on Thursday (of all things, to go
to the annual national conference of the American Wine Society :-) ).

Food:

* 8:00 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter, flax seed, & golden raisins
* 1:00 (restaurant): 1 crab cake; sauteed Brussels sprouts; 1 glass
wine (Riesling); 1/2 a sort of dense chocolate mousse dessert (split
with my friend)
* 3:00 -- 6:00 (winery): 3 glasses wine (Chardonnay, Meritage, Cab
Franc); ~10 multi-grain crackers; ~1 oz. Boursin cheese; ~2 oz. pate;
~12 olives {I let this serve as dinner -- haven't eaten since I got
home and don't plan to.}

Exercise:

* 10:00: 3 mile run

Wine is involved in my weekend plans, too We'll be biking 60 miles to
have dinner at a local winery, spend the night and ride back the next
morning. Thankfully the weather will not be too much of a problem. The
only problem comes at the end of riding all those miles on a rail-to-trail.
It's a 3/4 mile hill

Now, that's my idea of a bike ride!

It your rail to trails are like the ones around here it won't be that bad
a hill. Trains don't like steep hills either.
