I am reading Stu Mittleman's book Slow Burn.

He probably could not eat much before commencing his run, or on the
run.

How in the hell did you conclude this? Do you think he ran all day on
water? Believe me, he ate a drank like a raped ape. How the hell do you
think people get through ultra runs??? Do you think Lance forgoes food
while he is riding?

Just how much do you think he ate during his runs? Any idea?

Anough to blow your ridiculous theories out of the water, dip****.

He is anti-sugar (around page 250), so, he did not drink gatorate

It's Gatorade and in case you haven't noticed there are a **** pile

Thanks for correcting my typo.

TYPO? You mean, incorrect assumption. The typo is the least of your
problems, dip****.

of drinks on the market and that are not all made of simple sugar.

Stu is pretty clear about not wanting to drink sugary drinks and
gels. I can post an exact quote if you want.

No, nobody cares.

That's an unbelievable amount of
food to be crammed within 6 hours of eating. About 4 times more than I
eat within one day!

It sounds unbelievable because it is not true!

Wel, I did a simple calories out calculation, the only sources of
errors in it could be his weight, running speed, and age. All in all,
there is not a great difference as long as you plug in various
reasonable parameters. Check out www.caloriesperhour.com.

Don't you think you should stay with Glover and then worry about the
fringe ultra geek runners?

I read all kinds of books, history, diet, security analysis, evolution
etc. Can't see why I am not allowed to read about ultra endurance
runners, any more than I am not allowed to read about rebellions in
Auschwitz, etc.

I agree though that Glover provides a better guide to my goal of
running a sub 4 hour marathon.

Hey, i have an idea...how about going out and actually RUNNING and stop
trying to impress people, you only look more and more like the idiot you
truly are.

I apologize for my earlier comments. I'm rude, crass, and an ass.

No problem, Doug.

Those who dislike Xposting do so because it means
they give up (their delusions of) control over their little space on Usenet.

Steve, thanks, this is very interesting. I am curious, do you have a
race report written about that event? I wonder how and what people
feel in those situations.

If you're interested in ultra running resports, trainingt, tec etc, you
can read http://www.run100s.com/ and it's links. And it is free!

Funny you should say that Beverly, I was thinking of suggesting the
same thing - but then I thought it might generate a lot of messages
and if they were under this thread half of them might get crossposted
because people didn't check first.

FWIW I hate crossposting. If I'm interested in weightlifting or
running or how knit socks or anything else, I'm perfectly capable of
finding a newsgroup to subscribe to without them being dragged in
here. I suppose one "advantage" is that a look at the headers can
sometimes confirm that someone is definitely trolling when it isn't
quite clear from their message.

When I read something like that, I realize where some of the burnt out
pot heads from the 60's went - into running journalism.
