No problem, I just thought it odd that you were talking about
high-glycemic calorie-dense not-very-nutritious recipes in a diet group. I
didn't realize it was your foodie group. My bad.

dally? what on earth could be the purpose of that statement. i think your
time in mfw has made you quite bitter.

Bitter? That wasn't bitter, that was self-aware. If this is a diet
group then we support people in making sustainable life choices.
Getting rid of simple carb calorie-dense eating-for-pleasure is
something I strive for and support in others.

If that isn't what Cheese is here for then I don't care, I just know I
don't need to bother paying attention to Cheese. Note that Cheese went
on to give the perfect stats for height and weight for every member of
Cheese's family, i.e., proving that HE isn't here for fat-loss, he's
just here to share recipes.

What are YOU here for?

BTW, I don't spend time in MFW to make me bitter, I spend time in MFW
because I prefer hanging out with people who aren't into self-delusional
bull****. You're doing or you aren't doing, all the whining gets to me.
No whining happens in MFW.

Dally,

Is diet in your opinion, only about fat loss?

My family and I have all achieved in your opinion, "perfect stats for
height and weight” so we no longer need to eat healthy (40p/40c/20f) and
portion control?

I suppose we are “naturally fit” or perhaps have “overactive
metabolisms” and that’s how we remain fit, right?

Do I need to be overweight again to participate?

Do I need to be diagnosed with a food addiction to participate?

Diet is a lifetime change but it’s also a liquid and flexible one. I
continually look for new ideas to add to or change my way of eating.
That’s why I read and post to this newsgroup.

In case you don’t realize how my success has worked; I eat 2200 calories
each day and exercise 7 days a week. Even though my weight is very
close to what I want my diet is not over. It will never be over and it
will continue to get more difficult as time goes on. Every 5 years from
today on I will have to exercise more or find more calories to drop. I
will also have to find new ways to cram all the protein, carbohydrates
and fat my body requires into those decreasing calories. This newsgroup
is where I hope to find those methods.

As for my pancake post:

There were posts this week about turkey burger recipes. I’ve eaten both
hamburgers and turkey burgers and I can tell from experience that the
main reason someone would eat turkey instead of a beef is because they
are after a healthier burger.

The reason I posted the pancake recipe with the Cream of Tartar question
is because I don’t think the ingredients in the typical store bought
boxed varieties (Aunt Jemima, Hungry Jack, etc.) are healthy. Instead I
substitute (like the turkey burger above) complex carbohydrates (whole
wheat and oats) yet still get a pancake. Is that so far off from what
is discussed in this news group? I figured it was probably done here
fairly often and someone might have a healthy substitute for Cream of
Tartar. In this case the advice was to discard it from the recipe and
that I appreciate.

I posted my family stats as a response to your, “Why would you do this
to yourself” post. It was my own method of showing that we, as a
family, can have small portions of pancakes and keep our "perfect stats
for height and weight” intact.

So, are you banning me from this newsgroup because I remain fit, don’t
have an addiction or because ~75% complex carb pancakes are part of my diet?

No one bans anyone else from a ng. We're not all going to agree or
disagree with the way we live our lives. No one is perfect, remember
that. I happen to NOT be on a lowcarb diet. Lowcarbers think everyone
on the planet should eat exactly the same way. Your pancake recipe was
fine, AFAIC. It's just a small portion of what makes up your WOE, I
understand that.

MFW is filled with bitter, angry know-it-all bullies. It's a waste.

Thanks!

I’ve grown tired of people who think fit people just magically wind up
that way. Like it’s no effort to get in shape and stay that way. 11
years ago and 30 lbs heavier nobody said a word about my weight. Now
you wouldn’t believe the abuse I have to deal with on a weekly basis.
Anyone can make skinny jokes about me but if I ever dare fire back with
an overweight comment that would be inappropriate. Isn’t that a lovely
double standard?

I feel better than I ever have in my life, but I’ve never been ridiculed
more than the past 10 years. I won a mental battle with myself and now
take mental abuse from those around me. Ironic really…

I can relate to that. Some people were very petty and nasty with me when I
lost weight. The most difficult part was that people felt the need to ask
very highly personal questions about my weight and diet.

No. There are elements of fixing your head, integrating exercise and
sustaining the lifestyle changes, in my opinion.

My family and I have all achieved in your opinion, "perfect stats for
height and weight” so we no longer need to eat healthy (40p/40c/20f) and
portion control?

Actually, I'd suggest that you need to continue eating 40/40/20 (or some
variation thereof.) Which is why I was slamming the 100% carb pancakes.
I don't personally believe that pancakes with syrup are part of a
healthy diet. I challenge you to examine the role of simple carbs
without proteins in your diet even if you aren't currently fat.

I suppose we are “naturally fit” or perhaps have “overactive
metabolisms” and that’s how we remain fit, right?

I don't have any objection to how you remain fit, but when I call you on
a poor choice I don't appreciate you saying, "I don't have to try
because I'm already perfect." It seems to me like you're trying both
tactics: either you're doing what I'm doing or you're not. If you're
trying to make sustainable healthy life changes compatible with weight
loss maintenance I may have something in common with you. If you're
just hear to lord it over the fatties then I'm going to ignore you.

Every 5 years from
today on I will have to exercise more or find more calories to drop. I
will also have to find new ways to cram all the protein, carbohydrates
and fat my body requires into those decreasing calories. This newsgroup
is where I hope to find those methods.

Then why are you arguing with me for suggesting pancakes might be a bad
idea?

The reason I posted the pancake recipe with the Cream of Tartar question
is because I don’t think the ingredients in the typical store bought
boxed varieties (Aunt Jemima, Hungry Jack, etc.) are healthy.

No duh.

Instead I
substitute (like the turkey burger above) complex carbohydrates (whole
wheat and oats) yet still get a pancake. Is that so far off from what
is discussed in this news group?

No. It's not. Lots of stupid ideas are discussed here. I occasionally
call people on it. From my perspectives pancakes aren't a great choice
for people trying to eat 40/40/20.

I posted my family stats as a response to your, “Why would you do this
to yourself” post. It was my own method of showing that we, as a
family, can have small portions of pancakes and keep our "perfect stats
for height and weight” intact.

Certainly you can. You can also probably have a glass of wine with
dinner. Perhaps not something you want to discuss in an AA group, though.

So, are you banning me from this newsgroup because I remain fit, don’t
have an addiction or because ~75% complex carb pancakes are part of my
diet?

No, I was never banning you from the group. I was writing you off as
someone I read, though. Seems fair to me.

I'm sorry to hear some individuals have treated you, and "Cheese",
unkindly. I'm fortunate, it seems. So far no one I've met has been
either petty or mean to me during my 'decline'. Oh, there was someone at
the gym a couple of weeks ago who stared at me as if he had never seen a
fat man before, but why should I let his problem bother me?

The most difficult part was that people felt the need to ask
very highly personal questions about my weight and diet.

I've had questions as well. However, I don't find them offensive. After
all, I am succeeding in something that many people try without success.
If something in my experience helps them lose weight or otherwise
improve their health, who am I to deny that insight to them?
