"I Lost It!" Discovery Health Channel
I just caught the tail end of the Discovery Health Channel show "I Lost
It!" which profiles people who've lost a lot of weight. The person on this one was named Catherine, and she went from 300 pounds to 162 on . . . ok . .. . wait for it . . . the Atkins diet! When the narrator finally said how she lost the weight, I was all "Woo-hoo!" The narrator described the diet by saying Catherine could eat "plenty of meat, and some vegetables. Starches are to be avoided." (or something very like that phrasing) I was glad they actually showed some of the allowable veggies in a still shot too. And they showed her making pork tenderloin. Catherine talked about the foods she doesn't eat anymore, mentioning chips, french fries, bread, pasta, and popcorn. Then, the very next scene was Catherine talking about working out, and it showed her at Curves, even though they didn't mention it by name, the narrator just said "A workout facility that caters exclusively to women." Low-carb and Curves. Hmm, sounds about like my life before I got that free Y membership. -- Michelle Levin http://www.mindspring.com/~lunachick I have only 3 flaws. My first flaw is thinking that I only have 3 flaws. |

I quit watching "I Lost It!" after seeing episode upon episode about weight loss surgery. Maybe I'll look again...
