I am just curious... I know someone whose son is about 300 lbs at 18
years old. That kid started to get fat around the beginning of puberty
(5th grade) and got to 300 lbs. Is there any possible medical
condition that manifests itself like this?

Yes. It is called obesity. He needs to see a nutritionist NOW.
