Quit All Diabetic Medicine: One Year Later...
Hello, everybody. I am not qualified to give you
medical advice under any circumstances. However, this is a forum where we can tell our friends out there about our experiences with this terrible desease. I am sending you this message because of the relationships between low-carb diets and the amount o sugar in our body. I quit my diabetic medicine (Micronase & Glucophage) about 1 year ago, around November 7, 2002. I did it without even consulting my family doctor. At that time my HbA1c was a 10! Believe it or not, my HbA1c was equal to 5 (Mg/Dl 81), on November 18, 2003. It was 6.5 in March, and 5.9 in July. I have also lost 12 pounds permanently without any exercising. How did I achieve this? Here is my routine: I eat only fried or steamed chicken and fish with vegetables like green beans, broccoli, and Chinese greens. For snacks, I have only low-carb peanuts, or low-fat chesse (75% of the fat off). THIS IS IT! I have not touched anything like rice, bread, fruit, potatoes, tomatoes, etc., for over a year now! Many people think that what I am doing is extremely difficult. It is quite difficult, but the rewards are fantastic! I feel very healthy, and like a normal person again. I do take Lipitor for my cholesterol. Of course, I was taking it before I quit the diabetic medicine anyway. I wish you all a very healthy life! With best regards, Soulis |
