Question about whey protein powder
Hello all.
I am quite new to the Atkins WOE. I have been looking at some of the recipes, and many call for protein powder. I checked in the area, and found a flour-like product that was labeled "whey powder". I asked if it was whey protein and was told that it was. The USDA site does not list it but they do list "dried whey". It seems it is quite high in carbs. Is there some (simple) way that I check what the "whey powder" is? Timothy |

Question about whey protein powder
Whey powder is not the same as Whey Protein Powder.
The product you found is just dried skim milk. The protein powder is sold mostly in health food stores and contains the protein component of skim milk without the lactose. It's also got some supplemental proteins not found in skim milk to round out the amino acid composition. -- Jenny Cut the carbs to respond to my new email address! Question about whey protein powder
My guess is that when protein power is mentioned, they refer to 'soy
protein' powder. The one which I found, at GNC for twice what I should have paid, has ZERO carbs. Alan M "TRO" wrote in message ... Hello all. I am quite new to the Atkins WOE.
