Try Paleo exercise. Walk at least 12 miles a day.

So, it does not allow any grains, added sugar, potatoes (they are
poisonous when raw), and any vegetables that are poisonous raw. Also
dairy, although I, personally, eat cheese and butter.

Do you have a cite for the claim that potatoes are poisonous when raw?
That's a rather outrageous lie. I know plenty of people that eat them raw
and have suffered no consequences. Personally, I've eaten them raw also.
There are actually recipes out there for ways to prepare raw potato. I'm
not sure which ethnic culture it's from though.

It would probably be better to stick with facts than bizzare lies in order
to promote the benefits of one's WOE.

We've discussed this in rec.food.cooking several times. Potatoes
with *green skin* can contain solanine, which can be harmful, raw
or cooked:

Heaven forbid he confuse the issue with facts...

Well that can't happen because he's never wrong - just us worthless women.

Thank you for the information J.J.! It's just the green peel, not the
potato itself. I never had green potatoes so maybe that's why I haven't
been poisoned yet. When I have had raw potatoes they're always peeled. I
could see someone with a nightshade allergy getting sick though. They taste
interesting raw, sliced thin, and marinated in malt vinegar for a while, but
I think it's more of an "aquired taste."

BTW, that Science of Cooking website is cool! I can't wait to show it to my
students.

The disaccharide carbohydrates in potatoes are not difestible for some
and green fruits are difficult to digest. the same is true of raw
potatoes. The potato, although it containes iron, is not a particularly
nutritious food and it Europe it was animal feed.

My son & spouse like to eat raw potatoes and onions. I don't, but what
the heck, better than them eating french fries and onion rings.

BTW, that Science of Cooking website is cool! I can't wait to show it to my

This was the first I've heard of it (I simply Googled green potatoes and
found it), but yeah, it's a good one! I bookmarked it myself for future
