If you need any further proof of America's obesity problem...
Take this morning, here in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Traffic is backed up and becoming a problem. One lane is blocked completely, causing commuters to have to make the transition over to the next lane and creating one hell of a slowdown. Why? There's a new Krispy Kreme that opened on South Shackleford. Last night around 9:30 I was driving to a friend's house and had to take S. Shackleford to get there. Still one lane closed, and a huge line of cars in the lane to turn into KK. Traffic monitors were even there. You know, there's NEVER a line to get into Powerhouse Gym, which is about 10 miles away. Matter of fact, the parking is just like at church...it's *great*. I've resolved never to step foot in that Krispy Kreme. Why add to the chaos? SC (formerly JBA) |

Well, I've had to do the same thing. Donuts were always something I ate too many of. No more, however. |

Donuts are one of the few sweet things I miss. Another is SO's homemade noodles, homemade pizza dough, and homemade bread. Marsha/Ohio |

I've never had a Krispy Kreme donut and don't plan to. I suppose the fact
that donuts were never a big temptation for me helps :-) Don't get me wrong -- if they were around at work, I would eat them, but they never really "called" to me. You're not missing much (IMHO). They just taste like... donuts I guess. LCing since 12/01/03- Me- 265/226/140 & hubby- 310/253/180 |

They were the kind of thing where I would eat them because they were there and I wanted something sweet, but afterward I would kick myself because they just weren't THAT good that they were worth the calories and fat. Fresh chocolate chip cookies, OTOH ... When we moved to Atlanta from Up North, everybody told us that You Just Have to Try Krispy Kreams. So we did. They do, in fact, taste good; but since the numbers add up to about a day-and-a-half's worth of eating they just ain't worth it. Nothing is. -- 6/2/2003 181/164/16X Dick Yuknavech |

There's a new Krispy Kreme that opened on South Shackleford. SC (formerly JBA) Mmmmmmmm, Krispy Kreme. I must say I love a hot glazed donut. Haven't had one in a while, but think I may have to get one sometime soon. It has been several months. I am due for my yearly donut. Thanks for the reminder. ;0 Curt |
