The other component of weightloss - Exercise
I've got my diet in place now and have been walking daily for 30 min. So
far I have lost about 8 pounds in about a month and a half. I'm looking to ramp up my exercise and want to purchase an elliptical trainer to get a full body workout. Does anyone have one of these and if so can they recommend a good one for purchase for under $1000. |

Does anyone have one of these and if so can they recommend a good one for purchase for under $1000. I bought a Sole elliptical at Dick's Sporting Goods about three weeks ago. It was on sale, marked down from $1,200 to $998.00. I tried several brands in that price range and found the Sole to be very smooth and comfortable. There was one Sole machine a bit more expensive, but the only difference between it and the one I got was the max weight rating. One thing about them ... it takes some time to get used to the motion. The few minutes that you try it in the store does not tell the tale. I had been using a treadmill daily for over two months before I got the elliptical but when I first got on it, my legs were shaking after 5-10 minutes. I still do both the treadmill and the elliptical as part of the cardio workout but found it's better to do the elliptical first ... then the treadmill. I am now up to 30 minutes on each every morning at a fairly aggressive pace and resistance/incline program. RCE 260/214/185 started Oct 23, '06 |

Thanks for the response. I was just reading a review of it at
http://www.ellipticaltrainerreview.c...l_trainer.html and it looks like this is a good brand. Which model did you end up purchasing? "RCE" wrote in message ... It's a E-25, but it must be a newer version than those shown on the website because it has 2 user programs and two heart rate programs in addition to the other built in programs (manual, fatburn, cardio, interval, strength and hill climb). It also came with a chest pulse rate monitor that transmits to the machine. I think it is 300lb or 325lb capacity and was just under $1000. (on sale). I looked at the next model up (E-55?) and the only difference was that it had a bigger flywheel for more weight capacity. All other features were the same. RCE |

Don't know if you're a member but Costco has a Nodictrack Elite 1300 professional grade elliptical for $899. The lowest I could find online was $1499. (too bad they just had a coupon for 200 off for a total of 699 which would've been a steal but expired on the 14th). |
