A typo is not the same as someone who cannot speak properly.

Um, curt... this isn't a speaking medium. Oh, and english follows
english rules, not latin, regardless of what traditional grammarians
might say (or write).

Stick 'im!

hey, at least I'm white!

Being white just means we have lazy melanocytes, dumbass.
If being white were some sort of genetic advantage you'd have an IQ
higher than dog crap.

You should not end a sentence in a preposition. I learned that in
elementary school. I also hear people doing it all the time on T.V. It is
incorrect and shows ignorance. I know many people that just want to speak
"American", but our language is English. If we don't adhere to some rules,
we will all be speaking gibberish and in many cases we already are. Just
turn on MTV for a little while or listen to George Bush.

Respectfully,
Curt

You should not correct the grammar of others unless they have invited
your input.

I know many people that just want to speak
"American", but our language is English.

Since you are so fond of being grammatically correct, you should know
that "people" takes the pronoun "who," not "that." And if you are
writing American English, as opposed to British English, your comma
comes before the closing quotation mark, not after, as you have it.

It's a latin rule designed to make english seem more acceptable to the
elite. Get over it. Rules are there to describe actual usage, not
force the language into an unnatural mold. The actual usage of a living
language is the primary and to my mind only iron clad guide. If it is
clear and understandable, it is good english.

I also hear people doing it all the time on T.V.
It is incorrect and shows ignorance.

Because enspelled wannabe back in the day wanted 'respect' for the
english language. No.

I know many people that just
want to speak "American", but our language is English.

English has nothing to do with latin grammar rules.

If we don't
adhere to some rules, we will all be speaking gibberish and in many
cases we already are.

The rules we need to communicate are imbedded into our minds when we
develop language use. We do not need to add extra rules.

Just turn on MTV for a little while or listen
to George Bush.

Slang is a world unto itself, another language dialect specific to the
young, and American politics really has no place in ASDLC no matter how
many times you like to bring it up.

Language rules change over time. They change even in "English" English,
(as opposed to "American" English.) Shakespearean English is not the same
as modern English, which is not the same as American English today, which
is not the same as what American English will be 400 years from now. In
fact, language is changing faster and faster as communications technology
progresses.
