Default Importing WW Light & Tasty CD recipes into Mastercook :)

Sorry if this is a double post

For those that have the WW Light and Tasty CD, this IS a way to view them
all in one scrollable HTML file, thus giving those with MC8 the easy
importability into cookbooks..

Credit goes to "Ottermum" for posting on another board the "How" of opening
& viewing all the recipes. Here goes!

a.. For all the MC users who own a copy of WW Deluxe Light & Tasty...

Hi!!

If you own this piece of software you know that the recipes are great but
the program itself is crappy, for instance not being able to add your own
ingredients or print multiple recipes. You also cannot import them into MC-
UNTIL NOW!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

Sorry.

I did a bit of hacking around with the software today, thinking there has
got to be a better way to get them into my MC other than cutting and
pasting, and found something interesting.

Mind you, this worked on my laptop running Windows ME:

a.. Step 1: Open the WW deluxe CD rom with your "My Computer" interface.
DO **NOT** RUN THE PROGRAM!!! Just open/explore it.
b.. Step 2: Find a file called "RECIPE.MED". Right click on it and open it
with either wordpad or Word (I used wordpad). DO **NOT** CHOOSE TO "ALWAYS
USE THIS PROGRAM TO OPEN THESE FILES!!! You'll end up not being able to use
them with your program, I think.
c.. Step 3: Save the file as word document, AND as an HTML file!
d.. Step 4: Now you can either open it in Word and remove the html
formatting, or you can open it in your browser and use the import feature.

Just a note if you choose to use the browser option- the recipe for meat
tortellini comes after the cheese capiletti, but the nutritional for the
tortellini comes BEFORE The one for the capiletti. If you look at the
servings you'll see that one says tortellini, the other says capiletti.
You'll see, I have faith in you!

I checked and all the recipes are in there, just in an odd order. Ignore the
weird stuff at the bottom of the browser page, I don't know what it is but
it doesn't seem important.

YIPPEEEE!!!

Just thought you'd like to know.
