Default Ten reasons why women don't lose weight

This was on the Today Show and I think it could apply to everyone.

I read 1/2 way through #1 and decided "Laura" is a moron if she didn't
realize she was eating everything that came within her reach. Duh.

If she can't figure this out then she is probably hopeless!!

And it's my husband that comes to mind when I think of who finishes off the
kids meals and nibbles off others plates. This article makes women sound
like mindless Hoovers, sucking up bits of food all day and acting like
scavengers!

I actually know someone who does this regularly, but no! It absolutely does not apply to "everyone". I am not a snacker, never have been a snacker. When I gain weight I always know exactly why and from what. Losing? Most of the time I know why and why not. There were a couple of inexplicable plateaus on the way down. And now many times when I think I am going to gain, I don't.

See? These are the usual immediate responses from overweight people, who
typically are defensive by nature. They range from "I don't overeat" to
"That's not like me at all" to "I'm in control of my weight" They tend to
take remarks about other overweight people personally rather than
acknowledge facts.

_Everyone_ who tries to track their food intake underestimates what
they eat when trying to lose weight. Interestingly people who try to
gain weight OVERestimate what they eat. It's as if people think that
what they record will affect their weight. It's not just women, men do
it as well.
Only when the subject is monitored and the record is done by someone
else does it become objective.
