So much energy??

It takes three calories to make each one of my three or four posts on
this issue.

Here we had a newbie asking a very pertinent question. I know your
asking this question periodically is just the usual weightroom
watercooler banter, but he was earnest in wondering the obvious: all
these people here who do nothing but talk about everything else other
than weight-lifting -- and, what's worse, heckle those who are
actually trying to have a serious conversation about the subject.

So my advice to him was, in point of fact, "just do your thing and not
worry about what others do" here. Of course, that's too much of a
cliche, even if true, so I pointed him to http://www.fitnwell.net/MFW
%20Photos.htm to really make an impression on him (since a photo is
worth a thousand MFW posts from that character): meeting some of these
people, looking the way they do, at the gym talking about guns,
politics, and cooking, you'd just chuckle to yourself and continue
your lift..."just do your thing and not worry about what others do"....

Thank you for demonstrating just how immature you really are in your
view of the world.

If it weren't for "liberals," you wouldn't have paid sick leave,
holidays, personal days, and annual vacations. Not that I'm a Curt
James liberal myself, but it seems to me that if you're so worried
about people minding your business, you should direct your animosities
at the Patriot Act-supporting conservatives instead.

No, you're just a typical fool from Texas, like those I just saw in
the most recent NOW episode on PBS, where David Brancaccio interviews
all these conservatives who are currently in the process of losing
their homes, jobs, benefits....

Well, I suppose it's a good thing you people stick to non-fitness-
related topics. I was just warning the newbie, that's all.

Ps, and a liberal.

They are good at minding everyone else's business.

How young can he be? 12?

He does act like an immature teenager,

Why don't you set a proper example of adult behavior?

If MFW were a gym, you'd be kicked out for loitering.

Oh yeah, you're a real model of patrician values. You haven't
anything to say to the newbie who was wondering why there's so much
petty bickering here, but soon as I explain why, oh, I'm immature.

Hey, why don't you demonstrate some maturity yourself and just let it
go, huh? I mean, if it bothers you *that* much, maybe you should try
some, you know, "growing up"....
