Eggs On Sale Freezing Question
So eggs are finally on sale for me after several months, 99 cents for
18 large and I want to try freezing them. What's the 411. Ideally I would like to just crack three eggs and dump them in a plastic produce bag and defrost over night and make either fried eggs right out of the bag or scramble them up. Is this doable? TIA. |

(Or you can freeze egg whites alone with no salt.) Seal them in an airtight container, freeze, and use within a year. Thaw them in the refrigerator." So apparently whole eggs aren't doable, but scrambled are. Dunno why. revek |

Be sure to use the pinch of salt if you do yolks only too, or they get kind of funky. Lynne A |

Lynne A I assume that you can't leave them in their shells as the eggy stuff inside will expand as it freezes, but the shell of coure won't, so it will crack. Not that I've ever tried freezing eggs, but I have exploded more than one glass bottle in the freezer after leaving it too long when just wanting to cool it off quick. -- Junk Food Monkey ~~~~~~ Use the Reply To address only to email me. http://www.junkfoodmonkey.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

Eggs On Sale Freezing Question
Agree on the explosion concept. Take one egg (whole), put it in a zip top
bag, and put it in the freezer overnight. Look at the results. If it did not explode, let it thaw (leave it in the bag) and see what happens... Scott "Lynne A" wrote in message ws.com...
