Here I am on my 1st week of Maintenance and I am getting anxious. I am
weighing in in 2 more days, but I have used all of my flex points and

ate

I am just wondering if any other's who have gone through maintenance

have
experienced anxiety, and how you cope with the feelings?

Default Getting Anxious

I suppose we all have those anxious feelings. The only way I can cope with them
is to keep my eating under control. I know that if I stay within my points for
the week then my weight won't flucuate immensely, then there is nothing to be
anxious about. If I grossly overeat, or know I have overdone the points for the
week - then of course I have something to be anxious about. g

Hang in there Sue. Maintenance takes quite a bit of getting used to. It really
is no different than the losing part of the program, except you are trying to
figure out how many points you can safely add to NOT put any weight back on.
Using those flex points is much trickier while maintaining ... at least from what
I have found.

Default Getting Anxious

Hi Sue:
This post and other notes in the thread interest me because I've
had the same reaction to maintenance. I've been on Lifetime a bit
over a month now, and still get a bit anxious about WI. In fact I
need to leave in about 15 minutes for WI! I really need to get
around to buying a scale so I can get some reassurance at home
first.

As far as getting support at the WW meetings, my suggestion is to
*ask* for help. I never hesitate to consult the leaders before or
after class. I even went so far as to show the leader my journal
to discuss what was wrong. (I was not eating enough!) The leaders
have always been helpful and encouraging, and have never blown
anyone away. This may not be the case with all WW meetings, but
do remember that you are paying for their assistance.

Good luck. And do keep a small batch of the Veg Soup in the
freezer. Great for the times when you go overboard.
