I had to chuckle at work this past week when one of my co-workers

said to me
"I mean this in the most complementary way, but you are now 1/2

the man you
used to be." Referring to my weight loss of course.

Well, this got me thinking. While there is no way I can end up at

1/2 of my
starting weight--nor would I want to--my goal of 185 is fairly

close to
2/3's of my original weight.

So, for my own squirrelly reasons, I'm adjusting my goal weight

down by 2
more pounds just so that, when I am done, I can say "I am 2/3's

the man I
used to be."

Hey, everybody has to have a goal. You can safely assume that I

have
greater goals than this, I just thought that this would be a fun

way to
think about this.

Have a great weekend folks.

You perused my web page, and I reciprocated. You look fabulous, JJ!
Not only are you thinner, you have truly taken years off of your
"before" appearance! Great job!

I enjoyed looking at your site. My DH and I met online, too, through a
local BBS. (They say these things never work out!)

Thanks for taking a look, Sheena. Yep...my husband and I have been
together for almost eight years now, and married for just over three
years. Eight years ago, we were a statistic...now we're merely in the
minority...lol. We still act like newlyweds...love is so much more
precious and meaningful when you find the real deal later in life, in
my opinion.

I agree. We met 10 years ago online and neither of us was looking for
anything serious. We've been married 7.5 years. I think it's working
out. :-)

I just calculated it. When (not if!) my husband and I reach goal, we will have
lost 255lbs. That's only ten lbs short of my start weight! We will have lost a
whole me!! I'd love to get down to 1/2 the woman I was (132.5lbs) but getting
to 140 (or even under 150!) will be just fine with me! LOL

LCing since 12/01/03-
Me- 265/231/140
& hubby- 310/258/180

You go girl! We'll get there, together.

I'm anxious to get under 200 lbs...I haven't been there since I was about 19
years old. Sooooo close. I predict....Wednesday.

After that, I think that I am within a month of moving to pre-maintenance.
Honestly, getting to this point (and I don't just mean the last 5 months of
doing Atkins) has been so long in coming that this almost doesn't seem real.
I've got to, again, thank the supportive folks here; you've helped make this
easier than I ever thought possible. Though I still have much work in front
of me in terms of transitioning to maintenance and staying at maintenance
weight, I have little doubt at this point that I will be successful.

Geez, this feels good. And, I have to admit a certain streak of vanity as
it is nice to look good again too.
