Here's my secret for weight loss
As you may notice from my name, I am Asian. So what does someone who
has grown up on a Western diet do to lose weight? I go back to my roots and start an all-Asian meal. That is my secret for losing weight. I eat foods that I love and I don't go hungry. Vietnamese cooking is very low calorie, but satisfying. I don't consider this as a diet b/c I so much enjoy this cuisine. I especially like the soups and rice noodles. People ask me why I am slender. BTW, it's NOT b/c I am Vietnamese, although there are many slender Asians out there. They think that I starve myself or I am bulimic. And no, I don't have a fast metabolism (I wish!). I am like everyone else... I gain and I lose and then I gain again. I really LOVE to eat...chocolate, pies, cakes, ice cream...but be careful of Chinese food. With all that oil they use in Chinese resturants, calories will go shooting out the roof. That's why I avoid Chinese food altogether. I still have to exercise to maintain muscle tone and to clear my mind. It does wonders for my skin, but my feet develop ugly calluses from running. Oh well, no one looks at feet anyways. For those who love Asian food, try my secret out. |

Here's my secret for weight loss
I love to cook, but with work and school, I don't have the time or
energy by the time I get home. Vietnamese food is inexpensive, so I order out. A bowl of pho goes a long way. (Mieko) wrote in message ... That would probably be a lot more helpful. Thanks |

A bowl of pho goes a long way. I love pho!!! Yes, in my 'hood, you can get a big bowl of it for $4.00! I also like to make it at home. I use homemade chicken or beef stock. I add noodles, lots of veggies (Chinese broccoli, onion, mushrooms, and whatever veggies are in season). I add chucks of chicken, beef, pork, tofu; whatever I had on hand. I put in a dash of fish sauce, soy and hot sauce and it's soup! I also try to have more veggies than noodles. In that way, you cut the calories and up the nutritional content. Martha |
