Default 7 months to wedding diet start

Bob -- GREAT FOR YOU FOR FOCUSING ON THIS PROBLEM!

You should keep track of calories (at least occasionally) to make sure
that you're not overeating. And I sure agree with Carol's "stimulus
control" focus from Dr. Phil's diet approach -- that is, don't eat
after a certain time, make sure that when you eat you are seated and
are only eating with certain utensils, etc. (Simple changes that can
sure have a large impact over the long run.)

Good for you! Keep at it!

Post often!

Yours,

Caleb

Congratulations on the upcomming wedding, Bob. I'm glad you joined
us here. The changes you make do sound reasonable enough, though it
might be stressful making them all at once. But sometimes the best way
to do something is to dive right in. Are you planning on continuing
your weight loss efforts after the wedding?

It can be hard making smart choices in the grocery store, but it sounds
like you're determined!!

They way you will start to feel as you lose weight and get into shape
will be addictive... I hope you can make a lifestyle change that will
see you healthy for a long time!

Oh ... and I was going for a walk at lunch time but instead went to a
golfing range and hit a load of golf balls with someone from work ...
that got the blood pumping and a few muscles are going to be on the sore
side tomorrow - going again on wednesday but will try and get a walk in
tomorrow if im not sore.

I think it's good that you're working on incorporating exercise into
your life. I've been losing for a while now. I sometimes have a hard
time eating the way I should, but I don't really have a hard time doing
my exercise anymore. It really does get easier, though I was kinda
skeptical about that when I started. And it really does make you feel
better too.

In 7 months you could be walking down the aisle 100 pounds lighter if you
start today! You have the tools, but you elect not to use them. You don't
need us, you have the answers within you. You believe you don't deserve to
be thin, so you do everything to stay fat. I suspect your new bride is
overweight as well... how will she feel if you lost 100 pounds?

Hi Folks

Im m, 34 from uk and currently 336 pounds ... ive been together with my
fiance for 14 years this year and last christmas asked her to marry me.

We get married in april next year and I really need to lose some weight
as I want to feel better on the day.

Ive been fighting with myself (sounds stupid doesnt it but I guess the
dieters in here will know what I mean!) over this since new year. I keep
saying to myself im going to start, i'll make changes and sort it but up
until now I haven't ... I did reach up to 350 pounds and in the last
couple months but managed to get that down to 336 but its been a half
baked attempt that has found me having major munch days that ive found
difficult to stop.

Ive been ill the last few weeks with a chest infection and now im
finally feeling human again ive decided its time to stop being such a
useless lump and just get on and sort it out so thats what im going to
start to do.

I am going to make a few changes im going to stick to ... this weeks
changes a-

1. Stop drinking gallons of pepsi max and switch to water - I know pepsi
max doesnt really have any calories but it is sweet and gets me thinking
about sweet things and all that caffeine cant be doing me any good - I
literally dont drink anything else, cant be good.

2. Eat breakfast and regular meals - i tend to skip breakfast and catch
up with food later in the day, im all over the place with meals and will
just eat junk if im in a hurry which is most of the time as I dont plan
my time around food at all ... im going to make sure I eat some
breakfast, lunch and dinner at more or less the right times with a
couple of small snacks in the middle.

3. Eat healthier choices - i tend to know which foods are the healthier
options but always ignore them in favour of sweet or savoury goodies I
know are poor choices, I will start choosing the more appropriate ones
more often and keep the poor choices to maybe friday and saturdays to
start with which are my worst days usually.

4. Start exercise ... I dont do anything at the moment, im going to put
some swimming and walking into my schedule and see how I get on with
those.

Thats it ... doesnt seem like a lot of difference when you write it down
like that - just have to do it and see how it affects me over the coming
month ... i'll weigh in at the end of each month and hopefully start
getting this weight off me.

Im not expecting miracles by the wedding but it would be nice to get a
good way to losing a fair chunk of weight by then.

Start - 336.
